VTP and CTP launched for long time and with excellent profits. After Doug annouced CTP and VTP in myfxbook to sell, it's really horrible! They often hit SL! But Doug will only tell you it's becouse of abnormal market! The past 2 years no abnormal market???

Does any one doubt why ? Who made the wonderful records to let you purchase them? The records before adding into myfxbook are real or faked by his broker?

For relative newbies like me, be careful.

When I had to reactivate the VTP EA (again, poor vendor support - no email notification, had to figure it out myself), and reload to mt4, I didn't think about the settings going back to default values.

The Managing lot sizes default value is 'Lot scaling', with settings to 1.0. From what I understand, this is fine, but, as before, doesn't seem to work with the VTP EA. You have to set to 'Custom Lot size'. I noticed this after two 3-lot order losses at -110 pips....

Traders, those nice performance graphs you saw during product launch will never be replicated in your account going forward. Why? Because the statements were backtests that fraudulently got stamped as real. I expect to be blocked from posting further comments on this thread. That's how this scam vendor responds to negative reviews. So you will not hear from me here again. Of course, I could create multiple login ID's, but I won't waste my time.

If you are an American citizen, you can shut down this scam by notifying the CFTC.

Recently, a fund called Fortress Fund was started to trade Vortex plus manual trading, so says the description of the offer.

Hello, @jsantos3

In a public forum, I'd say, if you have proof of ill doing, please share, otherwise one should not make speculative indictments. That's not ethical. I have followed this signal for almost three months and the results seemed to fit the reported history. What makes you think the back tests were fraudulent? Do you have proof?

I am in no way related to Fortress Fund and they do not offer Vortex to manage.

With that said, yes i did block you. I do allow healthy debate, even if they are insulting, because there's no such thing as perfection and I'm not, but I'm blocking you for the exact reason that edwardopp pointed out.

Funny to see how everyones loosing with EAs since 3 days. market was doing roller coaster rides and you guys believed EAs. Manual trading would be much better in such a volatile conditions.
More profit with lower risk is my strategy

How on earth is using an automated bot for your entry any different from a manual trading strategy which would also have entry rules. You sound like your talking shit.....with no clue what your actually talking about. prob not even a trader.

lmao the way u r backing this robot shows you are a supporter for VTP,nvm.
There are few things which EAs cannot understand.
- News ( it cannot read figures, it cannot estimate how many pre, post hours the affect would be.)
- Over bought, sold levels are calculated by stoch, indis etc( but does the robot know if pair has moved already 250pips like GU did where as its normal avg is 150)
-Does it read speeches from governers, banks which have no clear idea what outcome would be.( EAs fail in this case too)

There are such many factors where EAs fail. and too many followers for a EA makes big players SL hunt knowing what the EA followers are doing.
More profit with lower risk is my strategy

All of what your saying can be programmed douchebag. News filters, no trade if price moved a certain % of ADR......

On the contrary, it sounded like you were trying to sell another product that only manual trades.

Maybe you weren't.....maybe you were....who knows.

you see this is where you are wrong, I know of EAs that do all of this and more! An EA will be more consistent and disciplined than a human will ever be! The trick is to watch the EA and intervene at the right times based on experience. I trade full time and will always use EA for the base of my trading, its like with any other business. Do you go old school and make your life 10x harder or choose automation to do the heavy lifting. Trading is 90% mental and 10% system.

I agree with what FXtrader2010 wrote and most of all, every news it's already on the chart so any EA can have info about it directly from the chart, the increase in volatility should be included too. And as the human need to watch, realize and act when something happens, if the EA is well programmed to react to every not foreseeable event, he will react way quicker than any human.

Its all to easy to blame the EA but don't forget that you are also responsible for how you set your EA settings. Not many traders are as good as Doug so I wonder would you have done any better in these situations? Simple fact, set your stops to a level that your account can handle in these situations and accept it in good faith....thats the way it has always been and always will be.

None of Doug's systems should even be discussed as EA's.
They are all signal services now (Except SwingTrader Pro) and as such we should expect Doug to take action.
I would expect Doug to turn off the signal on his end when he feels things are heated.

In the past Doug had to have to notify clients when to pause the EA with E-Mail Alerts.
This is no longer the case with the signal as he can turn it off on his end.
Sending out E-Mail Alerts is not necessary any more.

For further security, anyone here can turn off their 'Signal Receiver EA' if they feel worrisome.
Doug can control the signal from his end and you can control it from yours.

Doug currently has his risk for Vortex set to 3 lots fixed.
As of right now, this comes to 0.01 lots for every $266.09 he has in his account.
Please take a look at your risk everyone. Some of you have it too high.

Great post @LogicaLucidity , I couldn't agree more. People buy ea's or sign up to signal services, pass all responsibility on to the providers and expect the Holy Grail - this is a cop out. Whether you run ea's or use a service like VORTEX, position sizing and risk management is your responsibility.

That said, the performance of Vortex hasn't been quite as advertised - since July there have been 3 big losses which have wiped out all the gains in the last 4 months. That's almost as much as in the previous three years. Buyer beware, past performance is not a guarantee of future results 🙄

As for me; I have turned Vortex off for now as I'm focussing on another ea - not a signal service. I will turn Vortex back on again some time soon, just not yet.

Good luck in trading

:P

I'm of the same opinion, for greater protection of my account I have simply reduced my lot size from 0.35 to 0.10. Sorry if I said that this was an EA. I stand corrected.

Hello,

I agree with your point on the risk, but if you look at the first orders on Vortex the lots sizes were already 3.0.
At that period the deposit was 3495$ meaning the risk was very high and Vortex was working very fine.

The problem now is if someone start even with a correct risk setting and encounter 2 bad trades, it will take a lot of time to recover.

WELL what if you were wait until after big loss occurred then open a big trade size as the win rate is so high you know that the probability of 2 consecutive losses is relatively small?
