I trade Australian & NZ news all the time with Vantage ... spreads are never that much wider ... there's only so much liquidity in Asia anyway ... I think tight stops are what kills most people when news trading minor events like these

Definitely I read some comparison that compared your average ECN with commission to Forex.com and the ECN was literally half the price

Yep. Both those Martingales actually look pretty iffy mate - the FF one requires endless setting tweaking and that other one you were going to look at is in the market all time time - hard to trust a system like that. A friend has given me a copy of his bot - I'll get a demo going at vantage and let you know via DM - might be able to weasle you a copy too.

Regardless, the reality of it is all gambling has a negative edge - if you can point me to a game that doesn't would be much appreciated!Good trading doesn't - a good trader has an edge over the house and can only trade at ECN brokers - market makers ban them quick. This is why I trade with Vantage FX - they always pay me my winnings! PS After typing that though you could be right - doesn't sound too dissimilar from good poker/blackjack players being banned/dragged out the back of the casino and beaten hahahaBut yeah trading is different in that that the trader sets his own odds/re...

Gambling has a negative edge by definition. If you trade with > 33% accuracy and 2R you have an edge and it can't be considered gambling.

'I agree with Togr here - majority of the long term bank calls I see end up being wrong. Their trick is you forget their calls after a while. Predicting over shorter time frames is often an easier task. But stop placement can be tricky and a real killer.

I'm really happy with Vantage, low spreads on RAW ECN, cheaper commissions than IC and less slippage from my experience ... best of all, they're still taking New Zealand clients when a lot of brokers have stopped! Never had any problems with withdrawals either!Cheers,JayTee.

You must be thinking of Grid ... martingale is simply a betting/sizing system ... you can use it in any market. In fact, it's probably most effective in a trending market as the extreme reward means you can use a multiplier. Does anyone know of a good aggressive preferably free Martingale EA that will work with ECN broker vantage FX? I don't mind if it blows up every now and then, so long as it usually wins ... aim is to run it each with week with a couple hundred dollars.

A great trader I know built a system like this past few months ... pulled 300% in August with very little drawdown ... seems it can be done well if you know what you're doing. You could just run it each month with a set balance, every now and then you'd have a bad month where you're wiped out but most months you'd win big.

First post – I've been trading for about 5 years and trade with Vantage FX in Sydney 😀This is a really handy indicator for those who like to calculate position size manually. Indi displays the pip cost for current symbol at user defined position on chart. It's based on Stuart Browne's open source 'Simple Pip Value Calculator' but is much more lightweight!
