Ethereum is the new Bitcoin

ETH is simply too expensive at the moment and until they fix this and move to the POS consensus with ETH2.0 it will be on the back foot.

I still prefer BTC over anything else. I may change my mind in the future, but there will have to be a lot more developments to get there.

Despite the fees ETH undoubtedly has more use cases though. But as an investment it's tough as it also has uncapped supply vs BTC's 21m

I think that ethereum will never be able to repeat the history of bitcoin. Because it requires huge investments, there is a high risk of global crisis. Because of this, a lot of cryptocurrencies fell in price. But I think this is the best time to launch a new cryptocurrency. Because of the crisis, people will look for additional sources of income which will increase the number of people in the cryptocurrency market. There are so many crypto and this bear market will kill all the weak ones. Eventually there will only be a handful left that have any 'value'

ETH always will have the chances of surpassing BTC in the long run as the usability of ETH against BTC ecosystem is huge.

Yes, it is possible that Ethereum has a huge potential ahead and it will someday surpass Bitcoin in its development, but for now I am in the $BTC team

I can’t deny that ethereum is doing pretty well these days but I don’t think it would be right to compare it to bitcoin. Bitcoin is the dollar of the cryptocurrencies.

The OP seems to have high hopes from ethereum but I don't think this is something I would agree with. At least, not at the moment since all the cryptos are going down.

For now it is but particularly once the merge happens I wouldn't be surprised to see ETH eat into BTC's dominance.

If it happens, it will take time. But Bitcoin is famous globally; its reputation and fame are more than Ethereum. We never know about the future but considering Ethereum to take the place of Bitcoin is simply not possible as of now.
