Man i was sleeping when 1.3573 happen in EUR/USD so I miss some pips.
Now I am scoring from the move of 1.3440

I am trying to scalp to give me early entries and more trades and honestly 1m to 30m time frames don't really work. I got some whips from sideway action. But I feel real good about just using 1h time frame, h4 and daily charts.
Always have in mind the h4.. I discover a pip automatic counter for zig zag lines.

You can set up to 2, 4, 20 and what it will do is give you that length of pips automatic once the line is finish.

I also find out that when a line is drawn to late for example an up line and then price is almost half down way when the line is form. This is a good side that price is sideways. On the other hand if the line forms very close to where the price action is... you have a trendy price.

I have found nice tool for manual backtesting It's EA called Trade Simulator

It ymulates movement of a price basing on chart history revealing one move at a time bar after bar, you can place and close your virtual orders to see how would you do in real life. It let you demotrade over a month of data within one day.

I really like trend indication from this method. I noticed, that it's based on candles lows and highs [to simplify: break of low of previous two candles indicates trend change to down and vice versa for uptrend]. It also takes into consideration range periods, and your suggestion to not to trade 'too long' candles makes it perfect [well here's the secret of holy grail - final decision shall I trade]

I trade off 4H charts getting better and better.

I paper-traded using trading simulator on EU, I started on 1 FEB 2010 took 15 trades, 6 lost [-400, -286, -177, -90, -270, -220] with total net profit 3689. I traded various sizes dependably how convinced I was.

It has some flaws, definitelynot good for scalping, but if you trade for 20 pips profit or more, it will be perfect, and it's much better than scrolling chart with F12 button ;)

It's not exactly mine, I found it on FF, but it was code by some FX company, you can see the author field.

Have you guys tried the zig zag strategy on 1 monthly charts? It looks very interesting. Since the faster zig zags cover a lot of pips.

Guys.. I am pretty sure.. this strategy can make money in long terms move using really small swings on the daily Zig zags. I have somebody who can make the EA pretty quick and is only $100.. The EA has been created. There were 4 guys that got together and pitch in to order the EA. The ZZSirWilliams EA is now being tested privately. The live testing results will come out as public as soon as they are ready. So far is looking pretty good. This is EA is not on the public domain so it won't be share.

I've noticed this works different on different brokers platforms too (even though the ones i've tested on have been all mt4), i've tested it a couple times, only a new trader too, but I've noticed it works best on the gomarkets platform.

I have retraced the steps as far back as the lines have been painted to and the minimum amount of pips on a single line has been 42. Therefore I have been basing my latest trades on at what point i have entered my order and put a TP at 40pips above/below where the new line has painted. Even though they say prior charts are not an indication of future possibilities bla bla bla

If this proves to be profitable I intend to up the lots and keep on makin that cash money.

The EA is looking good. Have you tried to follow the advice provided in the z-score metric? It states that there's a 99.99% that a profit will be followed by a profit and a loss by a loss. I wonder if it would increase your profitability if you were to program this logic into your EA?

Here is my latest finding... if you give it enough length.. you sort of create a trending system.. meaning you will be buying tops and selling bottoms.. because you expecting price to keep monving that way... but here is a thing (new concept) if you fading. or trading sideways.. you will need to follow the line.. and not trade the opposite and this works perfect for a sideway price action.. you are basically selling tops and and buying bottoms, the opposite of a trending system who is basically trading breakouts.
