I opened this DEMO account to do more aggressive testing of the new EA I am using named Alpha. So far I love it because it has some sophisticated features to cover losing trades in a given currency pair using a "Smart Martingale" strategy. I am in the process of testing it on certain currency pairs and have now settled on seven which I intend to stick with for now.

Relative to the balance the drawdown is not a factor, but the more important point that can be gleaned from looking at trading history is that a losing trade in a given pair results in a breakeven or profit! This is can be observed by seeing the results on a currency pair level. Generally, the set of trades in a given currency pair are ending up profitable because of the way the EA offsets losing trades.

There are specific settings to control the recovery process. This is one of the things you just gotta love when you see the results.
