Maybe some healthy practices like meditation can actually help us. The point is not to turn off emotions but to learn how to recover mentally from unexpected situations and the stress involved. I think this comes with experience.

Yes, I see what you mean. After all it all a matter of trust - who do you trust to invest your money with. Some traders can rely only on marketing messages as you said and then they got trapped because they didn't research enough. The scam brokers always find excuses for their manipulations which irritates me quite much...

I think here the main issue is the uncertainty of the elections. So I personally won't trade fx actively as I don't know where the markets will go.

I like trading with fixed spread, personally because I feel free more secure when there are sharp movements during news. I understand that of course dynamic spreads might be cheaper some times, but it can also be more expensive.

Instead of asking , why not do the following - Find couple of brokers that you checked online and you are sure that they are no scam. Find the ones who are having free demo environment, and simply start testing yourself what ratio between account size, positions size , number of open positions leverage and etc. works perfectly for you. Because in here every trader will share his opinion which works the best for his needs, thus it might not work perfectly for you. I hope you are getting my point.

You can't just simply blame the whole industry because, you got burned in every aspect you have the good sides and the bad sides, I understand that some of you might got "scammed", but this is most likely because you didn't do you homework. Not trying to be mean, just being honest. Think about it - how can some traders can find good brokers , trade with them and have profit ? Simple - homework done perfectly = good results

I doubt someone can tell you the best broker for newbie, simply because different people choose different brokers for different purposes. For example one traders strategy may relay mainly on execution speed, thus will be priority for him to check brokers with good execution speed. If you however do not have strategy still, I advice you to find brokers with Demo trading account, where you can practice to build your strategy.

Demo trading can help you a lot if you are sure that the demo environment is really close to real account of your broker. However there are some descent brokers providing good Demo environment exactly for building strategy purposes. Another things that might help, is find web live trader, watch and learn and apply!
