I use a scalping system that provides me fairly strong entries, however, I've noticed that if the trade is not going in the direction I intended or if its stagnant and not moving in any direction within the first 2-3 min, then its best to close out my position and wait for another re-entry signal. In general, its a good idea to use a time elapse method when scalping. Because you are opening so many positions during the day, each subsequent position compounds your exposure/risk, which places strain on your expected value. Just a general observation.
