Most C7 owners did not get hit by this trade as the spread of other brokers widened more which triggered their safety off. The setting of this safety measure has been adjusted to 5 pips as well as a secondary measure coded in to the C7 engine which will react swiftly against any spread volatility regardless of whether its a new bar or not. I will not open a new account for the C7 systems as I feel that would be dishonest.

According to Tickmill support, this turned out to be my ea placing an order right at the "moment of swap calculation" so I have added error checking for this now.

There was not a 20% open trade drawdown at the beginning of this account as shown here in myfxbook. PAM bots use fairly tight sl and 5x or more bigger tp. Two pending orders today with "market closed" errors from broker that would have been triggered. Still haven't heard back from tickmill support. So, that's why the correct mathematical answer to OP's question is: Set your Martingale Multiplier as close to 1 as possible (turning martingale off is best.) assuming you're going for maximum profitability for a given risk of ruin.

This is all true but I have demonstrated that any recovery system sacrifices profitability when compared to a non recovery system of equal RoR. In return you get an increased chance of any 1 given trade in a series to land at a balance which is higher than or equal to the starting balance. Perhaps this has some psychological value? If you want highest profitability for a given RoR though, turn your recovery systems off.

Yes because 1,1,2,3,5,8 is so much harder to understand than 1,2,4,8,16? Post what 5 losses in a row looks like (is it -1x,-1x,-2x,-3x,-5x or -1x,-2x,-2x,-3x,-4x,-6x?) and I'll show you how you can either have the same RoR with higher profitability or same profitability with lower RoR by choosing to risk a percentage of your account on each trade instead.
