btanalysis just wanted me to inform you that "Jared" has banned him for this post. Looks like a scam has been exposed.

The red arrow below shows a substantial multitude of large losing trades all of which could be eliminated by a hard SL of 25 pips. On the other hand, there have been only 6 trades with MAE>25 which ended up profitable, 3 of them being your rather infamous USDCHF January 15 trades which blew your other live account. On the balance of both the losing and the profitable trades with MAE>25, the losing ones clearly prevail. So a hard SL at 25 pips will surely end up cutting down on the losses. Again, you can add it to the bot's settings as a switchable parameter (true/false) - then...

Doesn't he want to make more cold hard cash with his bot or, at least, make others believe they can and sell them more copies of his bot?

This graph illustrates how a hard SL at 25 pips would cut the greater portion of all losses while retaining nearly all profits:http://www.myfxbook.com/files/giangian/MAE25pips.jpgJared, can you add it to the bot's settings - at least, as a switchable parameter (true/false)?

This algorithm should have a MAE (Maximum Adverse Excursion) limit set to -25 pips, as seen from its MyFXBook statement under the MAE/MFA tab. That is, if a trade moves 25 pips is the adverse direction, it should be closed out there. That way, a very significant portion of the losses can be cut, with no cuts made to the profits. What do you think, Jared?
Understanding tne US NFP stats revisions

Today, the March US NFP reading was revised from 126K to mere 84K. Yet the market a month ago was traded based on the 126K reading. What are the mechanics of these revisions which prove to be very drastic as times, substantially overturning the initial reading? And how can the market be so actively traded based on the initial reading while knowing it can be so substantially revised?

I have very similar results to those of this guy: http://www.myfxbook.com/members/automatedcouk/keltner-pro-review/1062192As I only run KeltnerPro since March 6, it means no profits and a couple of months in VPS costs.

BigSteve is just connecting the three last upper and lower points of a the chart with straight lines (where a line last crosses a chart at least thrice at the top and at the bottom). It's a standard technique used to determine trends on price charts: http://www.dailyfx.com/forex/education/trading_tips/trend_of_the_day/2013/08/20/3_Tips_For_Trendline_Trading.htmlHe appears to be applying it to the bot's profits chart to determine its profit trend. Note that the points connected with the lines need to be the LAST three lower and upper ones (not the three all-time lower and upper ones). I...

Look at it this way: with Greece, it's either deal or no deal. No way for them to last past May, simple math here. If it's deal, the Euro soars. If it's no deal, the Euro collapses. Either way, huge breakouts, new trends, and some big kahuna to be hit with this kind of a bot. Kind of like re-living late 2008 - early 2009. Yet nothing totally unforeseen, unlike with the EURCHF peg - who would be totally blown out of the water by either possible outcome of the two? Corect me if I'm wrong.

Three more EU losses yesterday after being in substantial profit for a while and still no word from Jared on a tighter TP option. What is the matter here?

Tried backtesting KeltnerPro on USDJPY - keep getting "OrderModify error 130" in the strategy tester's journal. 😞

That's exactly what has been brought up by other people in this thread - a losing streak can last for a whole of two years and wipe out as much as 60% of the account's equity, like it did on GU in 2010-2011 (see the BT graph below). With hardly any settings open for adjustment in the EA parameters, one can only watch their account equity melt over this time. And there's nothing to suggest that a losing streak cannot last even longer than this. As an old wisdom goes, "markets can stay irrational for longer than you can stay solvent".All of this week's losing trades wou...

"Assuming stop losses are honored" - as your FXChoice experience has shown you, stop-losses are irrelevant in such situations. When there's no liquidity, they cannot be executed.

"forexstriker" has shown us an example of the USDCHF debacle on January 15, 2015 as an illustration why a volume filter is necessary, with a screenshot of the actual bars and their falling volumes. It is part of the very definition of breakout that a breakout is a sharp price movement supported by growing (not falling!) volume. Can you show us an example (in a similar way - with a screenshot) of a situation when such a volume filter would actually be harmful to KeltnerPro's trading?

Several sources in the City have privately confirmed reports of dealing desks engaging in urgent preparations for the EUR/GRD (European Euro / Greek Drachma) trading instrument reintroduction, industry insiders claim. "In view of the preparations, the coming Greek Orthodox Easter weekend has been declared business days at multiple brokerage companies, with staff to be paid overtime wages", a privy source disclosed as stated in a trading firm's internal communiqué. "We largely view the matter as finished and will aim at offering competitive spreads on the new minor&quo...

As you look at today's losing trades, they would have all ended up in profit if the SL was a little bit wider. So there at least should be such an option to set it in the EA's parameters in accordance with the user's personal preferences.

Thanks for the tip. I am not a professional trader, so I just leave the EA running on my VPS 24/7, just like Jared does, and then compare his trades to mine. If there was some kind of a "red events" filter option in the EA parameters, I would definitely consider using it.
