Does the VantageFX Demo accurately show the commissions on the + symbols? I assume we are allowed to use any symbol available in the list...

So things have not been going too well lately, and that is probably my fault. After noticing 7000 pips to achieve the 5%, I increased the lot sizes from 0.01 to 0.1. I also noticed that the multi-purpose trade manager (MPTM) was only set at 1% take profit, but literally no stop loss. It doesnt look like it actually needed to draw down more than 2%, but it needs some headroom during rollovers and news etc. When I introduced a 1% stop loss with 0.1 lot size - I found this got hit quite regularly.Today I also updated to version 1b, and I'm running it out of the box 0.01 lot size on all trades...

I'm contemplating backtesting a 200 pip stop loss. If you look at the charts in any of these backtests, a slight bit of headroom usually would have saved the day. Less headroom will result in more losing trades than currently seen. But you need some serious liquidity if playing with large lot sizes...

I don't believe this is true. My Synergy account didnt pick up the trade either. It is due to slight variation in feed from the broker. I'd say more a stroke of luck on this occasion.These results are easy to get. Open account with 5k, risk blowing the account from day one, and get you lucky on one of them, and that is the basis of the sales machine thereafter. My only question for all of these EA vendors is this:How many attempts did it take to get the account off the ground without it going up in flames? I'm sure its more than one or two attempts...

I know you guys so dont want to hear this, but the original default ver 2.6 GBP settings saw yesterdays two losing trades for Doug reach 83 and 58 pips profit before closing respectively. Useful to keep it trading on 0.01 lots, otherwise you'll lose track of its performance...

I am running the 2.6 set files on the GBPUSD with fixed lot size 0.01, and the trades which seemed to be the final straw for Doug are doing quite well for me. The first trade is 21 pips in profit at the moment, and the second is 49 pips. The stops has moved up and guaranteed to have been profitable now. I just did this to keep track of how well it would have done... Just interesting to note.... I wouldn't risk any more on it given the recent trouble!

I've used metatrader on my phone to interfere with the trades ,and bung in some manual ones. It works great for keeping you awake at night as well when you should be getting a good night's rest.

Anyone interested, I ran a back test on GBPUSD from Jan 2013 to Feb 2015 on Dukascopy data over the weekend with fairly low risk (0.5 lot size). Here is the result:http://www.myfxbook.com/strategies/vtp-gbp-20130101-20150220/77610Interestingly hit maximum draw down in the first 5 trades, and still produces some respectable results overall.

Doug. I've just been looking at your lot sizes in the last couple of days, and noticed you shifted the risk around a bit. Can you share information such as this with us? We don't need the nth degree of explanation. Just a bit of direction as to what you are doing with the master account. Thx.

I purchased RTP around xmas, and I'm happy with it. I use the same broker as Doug and get almost identical trades. Very happy. I was wondering if anyone has tried back testing and optimizing on any other currency pairs yet? Ones I had in mind were maybe:USDCAD and USDJPYIn theory... surely it can be applied to any currency pair?
