Hey scotty,

Long time no see! How is the wave going? See you are using it on a bunch of different pairs now. How does that look? What with the new grid strategy. Is it also a martingale?

Hi Askew!

I like the Rogue Wave EA I created, but it had some behaviors that I did not care for. So, I am back to the drawing board. A few years ago I created a Grid strategy EA. It works very well, but I needed an account that traded in very small sizes so the martingale could run if it had to. We will see how it does. I just started it today.

Made a couple tweaks to the set file and reset EA on all pairs. So I reset the dates in the reporting to start fresh with new settings.

just out of pure curiosity, does your grid check trends before it goes martingale?
just my opinion but it would add a huge degree of safety to avoid martingale against the trend

The initial order go with the trend with a high degree of completion at TP. It is when the trend reverses is when the Martingale starts.

The reason i asked that, is that EURUSD is in a HUGE downtrend, and yet you are buying...
so the question is, how can it be with trend?

The EA I designed is also selling and profiting with the downtrend at the same time it is buying at 30 pip levels with the martingale.

When in an uptrend, it BUYS, PROFITS, CLOSES, then re-enters in same direction.
When in a downtrend, it SELLS, PROFITS, CLOSES, then re-enters in same direction.

If in a BUY and a downtrend begins, it continues to buy every -30 pips (on EURUSD) at increasingly larger lot sizes. TP profit is moved on all open BUY orders to the previous entry point waiting for a 40 pip retrace. Even though some may close in loss, the overall series closes in profit.

It's risky, I know. But did very well in back testing and I am on a mini-micro account for live forward testing.

i dont think you understood my point.. you say it detects a trend.. but the trend for eurusd has been down for more than 6 months, yet I see @11.14.2014 19:03 it was buying the eurusd... so how can that be a trend detector???

No worries Ace. I am only concerned about the short term. I am dealing with 30-50 pip price movements as in the attached screenshot.

The shot above is from the EURJPY 30m. It was cleaner.

Earlier in the week, EURJPY was in a down trend and sell orders were profiting every 50 pips. When the uptrend began, it began buy orders. While these were profiting every 50 pips, the last entered sell order was in draw down, new sell orders were placed every 50 pips in drawdown until the small retracement on Friday where all the open sell orders closed. The highest closed sell orders profited enough to cover the smaller sell orders.

I did not claim that my EA was a trend detector. I only use certain 'trend friendly' indicators to initiate the first trade when the EA is loaded the first time. After that, it opens new orders when old orders close regardless of market conditions.

No difference between 1 and 2 as far as the EA is concerned. Only started at different times (dates). Plan to have several accounts running keeping money segregated. Easier for broker to fill higher lot orders. And with different starting dates, less likely all accounts would blow at same time. If an account blows (which there is that possibility), Money can be moved from other accounts while keeping income stream stable.

Has not blown account in testing if account balance is high enough, but I would rather diversify a little and play it safer. The martingale is risky enough. 😇

Not sharing for demo testing yet as I have not decided what direction I want to go with the EA. Maybe share it, maybe sell it. Who knows. But at the moment, the coding is still dirty and I have not had the time to clean it up. And there are several instances that the EA does not account for that I am still doing some things manually.

Example: When the martingale gets to it's last iteration (11th), I reset the EA manually to begin trading at the smallest level in both directions waiting for the pair to retrace. Still in the theory phase.

Thank you for stopping by. Let's watch the charts for a few weeks and see how we do. At the moment I am only testing a theory.
