That’s about the same amount of professionalism they are exhibiting. Now this is just my opinion, if it offends anyone I’m sorry for that too. It was not meant too. Good luck to everyone that has and will enter the contest. Turk
+1 People shouldn't trivialise the issue. It doesn't reflect well on a company if they're casual about the submission and handling of what is sensitive information. If you think this is "just" some trivial issue then, I'm sorry, but you're mistaken. Having been a victim of identity fraud, I can assure you it's no laughing matter when someone else is opening accounts and buying stuff as if they're you.
Excellent posts! Unfortunately I'm sure the people arguing on the broker's behalf won't heed your warning, because they haven't even been able to grasp the reason most of us don't want to give our vital information to some Belize Bucket Shop. All I see is posts saying [trollvoice] "oh wow that's SO HARD to copy your ID hehehe lololol" [/trollvoice]... as if we are concerned that it requires too much effort to send in our documents.

Am I too late for the beginning of the contest? Or has the hassling started already. I just received this email from our friends at FX Choice:
Dear [me],
After a few weeks of demo trading I hope you have become familiar with our platform and are now considering switching to a live account. I am not yet certain of your trading strategy or if your demo testing went as expected, but I would like to learn more about your investment goals and perhaps discuss how Fx Choice can help you reach those goals.
I would like suggest a 5 minute call to learn more about what is important to you as a investor. You may also be interested in reading client reviews on Forex Peace Army here.
As a valued client of FX Choice your feedback is very important to me. If you have a moment, please contact me to discuss your experience with FX Choice thus far.
I look forward to speaking with you,
Ajit Singh
And no, I haven't been demo-trading yet with FX Choice 😲

Suggestion to FXChoice:
I understand you sponsored this contest because you want more clients.
People don't want to send docs just to enter a contest.
You don't want to change contest rules.
Let's do something in the middle:
Offer a small No Deposit Bonus against registration.
And everybody will be happy.

What can you do with just a copy of ID and utility bill? You cannot make a credit card or anything. Well at least in my country (USA). Can you in your country? Well then WOW, that's messed up. In this modern time, credit card issuer and banks have better security. Where in the world do you live in?
I live in the UK.
For your information, a utility bill and copy of id is one of the types of proofs of address that many businesses (including this one!) use as proof of address when opening an account. Now usually with "id", a photocopy of drivers license or passport or such is required, and I don't know about the US, but certainly in the UK, Europe and South Africa these documents contain a lot of personal information, usually including a picture, a depiction of your signature, your date of birth, address, and several other pieces of potentially sensitive information.
Additionally, it's not just credit cards and banks that you should worry about. Many shops and online sites require mostly information that can be gleaned from e.g. a utility bill and a personal ID.
It's really fun when you start getting bills through you letterbox from stores and businesses that you've had no dealings with for stuff you've not bought and then have to clear up the mess through no fault of your own... (not!)
And people may potentially use your identity for far more nefarious stuff...

Folks,
I am still having problems getting the platform to work (still seeing the waiting for up-date message and the connection indication on the right bottom shows 7/4 kb or syas common error). Not sure what I am doing wrong (I don't normally use MT4). I don't need to register to their website and get myself verified to get this to work do I? (that will be strange). The server is: FxChoice-Classic Demo - FX Choice Limited. Can some maybe advise. I am not sure where I can see the demo server number to see if it is same as above.
Thanks in advance,
Guy.

Better miss a good trade wishing you were in, than enter a bad trade wishing you were out!

Dear FxChoise Representative,
We are requesting to modify the rule regarding the account verification that is needed before the contest so that it can be requested after the contest winners are announced?
We expect and hope that our request will be accepted.
Regards
We? Who are we? I'm not requesting anything. I hope it stays stays like this.
If you can't read the rules before joining then why are you complaining? The rules were very specific, if you don't like them then don't subscribe to the contest. Easy.
yes i agree with you
i think peoples here dont agree the verification rule because they might be want create multiple account to have more chances winning this contest.
hey peoples.. if you think you are fair people why you must scared to verify your account? also this verification procedure is a plus point, don't you think if you win this contest you not again must do verification process? you get the prize in the end without doing verification again because you are already verified 😄
Hey dude.... it's really simple, I will NOT share my PERSONAL INFO, just for the sake of entering a DEMO CONTEST, with a very small chance of actually winning anything. First off, these contests are really just for fun. NOBODY in REAL LIFE trading trades like this.... unless you are a complete NOOB and wish to blow up your live accounts. Brokers create these contests, so they can attract the Trading Noobs and take all their money. I have a real trading account now for more than 4 years, and let me tell you it's a battle to keep it alive. I have tried these BullS*^T automated trading methods, and only lost real money, so I prefer the tested method of Manual Price Action Trading, and make REAL money, maybe slow, but I do make a profit.
So, here is my point. If you wish to give your personal info in a "supposed-to-be-for-fun" contest, go right ahead. I have NO interest in Sales Reps driving me crazy for weeks with e-mails and phone calls to open and fund an account with them. It has nothing to do with wanting to open multiple accounts for the contest. I enter these contests to test my OWN method of trading without the stresses of trading live with real money.
But hey, good luck to you sir, and may you have success in your "trading". Peace to all!, and good luck trading...
yess Agree... Only Noob will verify it....

I didn't post that. Someone posted this about what I had said originally. And I think he took what I said wrong.

I live in the USA. On my ID there is my Social Security Number. The address of my residence. A copy of my signature. My picture of course and as a matter of fact it even has my blood type on it. And with a copy of a utility bill and the ID lets say yours. I can establish a new residency in another state. Get my children into a different school with it. Use it to open or possibly obtain access to your bank accounts and countless other things. Like open other accounts to launder money that your going to have a real hard time explaining you didn't do. I can obtain a birth certificate thru the mail with it also. With all of this I just stole your life. Now it may sound vain but I have a lot to lose. I have lost everything before. Twice as a matter of fact I have had to start over in life. And you think for a second I want to lose anything I have and have to start over again for a chance at 10 thousand dollars. I dont care about the money anyway, I like the competition to see where I stack up with everyone else. So in Forex we use a risk reward factor in our trading. Well based on that 10 grand mine would be a couple thousand to one. And you are sending your information to a foreign country by the way. To someone that sent you an email asking you to verify your account. Then on the website it says if you cant send it thru your back office just send it in a email. But as I stated in my previous post everything I read about FX Choice was ok. The whole 7 comments from thier customers in the last 10 years. And we haven't ever heard of a broker that wasn't reputable right? And I am not saying they are not reputable. It is my opinion and I posted this earlier that they are reputable and I was thinking of switching to them. But I thought the way all of this was handled was very unprofessional and have stopped testing their platform. That was just my choice and opinion but the above about what can be done with someones information is a fact. I wish everyone luck in the competition and I wish I had the balls to do it. Turk
