I think it should have much more growing cryptocurrencies and diversed a lot cause not everyone have some money to invest here in all that no matter what. Do you really see that all happen or not ? You need to invest in that and test, test, test.

What makes you think $40,000 is a potential target? is that based on some kind of cost to mine data?

Maybe Bitcoin fomo; but no doubt after the upcoming Bitcoin Halving; the price will be crazy as like 2017!

Yeah there are more attributes which should contrinbute to price raise.

The hype is rising; maybe it’s a good sign. I see; nowadays almost all of the financial magazines are active on covering the crypto news and update!

Correct! If you see price; maybe you’ll be panic! But if you really understand the value of blockchain; then the reflection will be different!

It might be good to buy low - below 10,000

Now it’s around 8K; I see the recent bearish move was so sharp!

I was lucky enough to jump out just before the bubble burst in 2017, was a good Christmas :) thought we were doing the same this year but it’s seemed to have died down. If the halving pushes it and the hype starts again I could see it doing the same. This all kicked off again when we saw someone buy like 100milion dollars worth of bitcoin, Mad to see such volatility. In short I can see it moving to 20k next year but eyeing the drop this time :)

I am not in crypto but I expect it has a future. I am interested to get in but my worry is which crypto is the best long term bet.

Standard bitcoin is the most popular but its functionality is pretty basic compared to the newer faster crypto. I gut tells me that the future of crypto is bright but that bitcoin will decline. Maybe I am wrong. What are peoples thoughts on which crypto has best chance of a good (and high value) future

Next year might be very important for crypto. Even though today's rate of BTCUSD is very low I expect massive grow during next year.
Do you know that guy McAffee? He predicted BTC USD will be 500,000 USD next year.
Later on he changed the prediction to 1,000,000 USD. I doubt that will happen but for me even 100,000 would be a miracle.

This question has a highly speculative answer. No one in this world or crypto community has a clear vision of the future of cryptocurrencies.

We can only make assumptions based on history and present events of crypto. The virtual currency based on cryptography was introduced to the world so that it can overcome the flaws of centralized transaction system. But this so called decentralized system even has some limitations. If you misplace/forget the private key, all your cryptocurrency possessions are lost. Private Key is the proof that you hold the coins.

It’s a virtual currency, generated by machines, transferred via machines and used by humans (!!!). Threat from hackers scares majority of the people to take a step forward. Although its popularity is increasing but its acceptability is extremely less compared to that of fiat currency. Bitcoin is a legal tender in some of the countries whereas banned in some. With diverse rules and regulations of every nation, it is a bit challenging to fit the cryptocurrencies or at least the one most popular bitcoin as a mode of payment.

For major adequacy, crypto should be regulated and this will curb its decentralized nature. But excluding this, it has been embraced by a minority. Most of this are from technological background who understand the working of crypto. The complex structure petrifies layman from trying his hands on crypto.

Omnipresence of crypto will become a reality when it has a diverse acceptance. Explanation of crypto in a simplified language, protection from hackers, and security for not being used by unethical resources, decentralization and anonymity in its true sense will expedite the adoption of cryptocurrencies in day-to-day life.

There is surely a challenging path for crypto but it has managed to stay strong till amongst the all the hurdles faced. What if it is not accepted as the mode of payment for which it was invented? The cryptos have acquired the highest position in investment options. Forex and stocks are left behind in the race. Suppose you had bought 1 BTC when the price was $1k and you have held it till the price reached highest i.e. $20k. Flattered by the profit? And this too in a time span of one year! Which other trading asset gives such fascinating returns?

I agree it’s a bearish market right now. A few traders have lost their funds like hell. It takes ample amount of research to form fool proof trading strategies with predefined entry and exit points.

Keep your hopes high and positive. Let cryptocurrency stay for the betterment of the world!

This suggests that BTC continues to be of interest and used / speculated. Some people think that Bitcoin will never reach heights, but next year it will surely grow.

There are many ways to use crypto. I believe it will be adapted to daily common use and gain a lot of value.
It actually gain a lot of value as I recall BTC being worth $200 and it is $7,000 today. Which 35x more.
Imagine another jump from 7,000 x 35 = $245,000 :)

Once a new technology like crypto has been developed it cannot be taken back. It is out there. Crypto is here to stay. Whether it remains a minority player or dominates the currency markets time will tell but I can only see upside for crypto.

Crypto will become more important in future. I mean not in term of alternative currency as it's now, but as state currency. But that won't be bitcoin, as there will be currencies of other generation. It's expected that bitcoin will take some niche, but 2017 will never repeat.

China is trying to completelly control life of its citizens
So they have system which monitor everything you are doing and give you points based on that.
So if you dont say what they like you cant get work, get to school, get car...

As a next step they will cancel paper money and force everybody to use their cryptocurrency.

IT's not very bright anyway so people may want to get back on you really and completely and you may do the same for them. How will you plan to prolong your doings here? I do not assume that much. Thanks for that matter anyway.
