Hello ProActiveT,

Welcome to the club. I have had sPhantom for one month, and very satisfied with 22% gain. All of your settings seem to be spot on. The only problem I was having was it would open a trade immediately after closing. The trade would last only a few seconds, then close, usually at a very small loss. After emailing support, they suggested setting HIDE_SL_TP to true. Since then, no problems. Heres what else: Bring your chart history up to date, and your bars on chart up to date. Seems to run a little better with history current. In regards to leverage, I guess it depends on your risk aversion. Mine is set to 1:200 on a $1000 acct. to avoid a margin call if the situation goes really bad. Although the vendor uses higher risk, they only risk $100 (the initial deposit). So far, the EA has worked like a charm. I also use VPS because I don't trust my internet connection. My broker provides it for free with a $1000 balance. The risk percent seems fine. As you use it and trust it more, you can increase it, since it is not an indicator of how much of a percentage you are risking, but tells the EA the lot sizes. With a setting of 10, on your balance, I believe it will open lot sizes of .065 or in that area ( .01 per $100 ). Mine is 15, and my SL is set to 150, as opposed to the default 200. If you set yours to 20, your lot sizes will be around .12 which for me would be a little too high. And I always withdraw the profits regularly, once every week or two. In one month, my withdrawls have been over $200. Well enjoy. My fxbook page is: sphantom-Anubis2.😄

Yes, essentially, you are screwed. Not saying they will, they'll tell you it will never happen, but it does happen. That's why you can never rely on any one system. It may work for awhile, then quit (see Forex Growth Bot for a perfect example), or they may just decide to pack up and quit. You can be screwed when its on your computer.

Several years ago, a developer by the name of Forex Scam relentlessly pointed out the systemic flaws and lies of many EA's. Not just lame accusations like jarora and cowpoop routinely sling but real hard facts. He sold an EA as well that I purchased (can't even remember the name of it anymore) that had an MQL lock. One month after I bought, he quit paying the MQL bill, the locks were disabled, and everyone's systems went down, and Forex Scam disappeared from the face of the earth. It just happens.

sPhantom has done a stellar job of communicating. I hope they remember that trait in the bad times as well. Companies tend to clam up when the shits hitting the fan. That's the time to be communicating. Say you screwed up, why it happened, and what your doing about it. Be the leader you supposed to be.

Hi Joseph,

I sincerely thank you for such a detailed answer!

I will watch closely my risk percent to change it through time. I will also correct HIDE_SL_TP to true.

It's good to know for the Vps included with your Trades Way broker. How is the latency Tim between the server and the broker? Do you know who they are partnering with to offer it?

Have an Happy New Year!

Hi Ken,
by reading your words it seems you use EAs since long time. I am new to this field and just had a nice month with sPhantom. I'd like to add one more reliable EA, would you suggest any that you are using right now in a good balance safety/profits?

Dear Traders

Because of new year holidays there will be no trade till 5 Jan.

We completely understand that all clients prefer to have trade and profit but after many studies on current market conditions we decided to avoid trading till 5 of Jan.

We appreciate your support.

Best Regards

Hi ProActiveT,

The VPS Traders Way offers is their own server. The last ping test I ran came in at 20ms. It varies though. When the market is slow, like the Asian session, the latency is a little more. During the London/US session, it's faster. I have compared the openings of the vendors trades to mine, and they are almost exactly the same each time in regards to opening/closing times.

Yeah I remmeber ForexScam, i think he was shilling something called idraw...
that guy was pretty sad.

Thats why I wanted to know about this system, as their income module is only based on the sale of the signal copier, and no recurring revenue... so there is little incentive to continue when purchases stop.
I would recommend a recurring subscription module, it would show faith in your system, you can price it at 50$ a month and everyone will pay as it is pretty good. and this way the owners will always have an incentive to stick around as after 6 months they will be making more than a one time purchase.

Hello sPhantom...

How do I get the option to reduce emergency stop loss; and what are your recommendations on its use?

Uncle Steve: Request the customizable version from the vendor. They recommend a SL of no less than 100.

Ace;

I agree with your payment model entirely. Hell, 50 bucks a quarter (3 months) is enough to make it worth their while. 500 subscribers would be 100 grand a year in residuals.

The fee and payment systems have always been difficult. I am having an EA coded as we speak. If it is as good as I think its going to be (yes, I have scruples, if not, I wont market it) I hope to market it and I have been thinking about these exact issues. Refunds are always a bitch for the buyer and the processor so I hope to configure this so its free for a live or demo account right out of the gate for a 60 day trial. If you like it and want to keep it, then the quarterly fee applies retroactively. If I don't hear from you for purchase, then I turn off your license.

@Joseph
when you get a customizable version be aware of the historical possible DD: it may reach 140 pips and then go back to profit but if you set a SL=100 you may just hit it and lose. Not always a tighter SL is equal to a safer strategy. I have set a customi SL=160 which I found was never reached yet. If the strategy would be linear and understandable I would set it to 120 but I don't know how the hell their strategy pops out profits even after the trade sinks with quite big DD.. Anyway neither 200 or 250 has been never reached till now.

If they remain successful then even a one time payment will be fine as people will continue to buy it. There will always be new customers.

Your immaturity is showing. No one likes everything. Someone will always have problems with an EA. There's people on these boards who's hobby is to trash anything remotely successful. If you are looking for 100% agreement, you may as well stay home. Want the recipe for success? Use others as a sounding board, but lean towards the preponderance of evidence.Trade on demo for a couple months. Are your results similar? Ask a few questions. How is support? Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. Listen to all but follow none. Use your critical thinking skills to filter the information and learn to think for yourself.

1. Turn off your caps lock key
2. Read the whole thread
3. Nobody is forcing you to buy this. All trading involves risk, defined as 'bad things can happen'.
4. Your profile shows zero trading activity and this is your first post in over a year; I suggest you actually learn about trading before buying an EA
5. Did I mention turning off your caps lock key? Oh, yes...
