What software do people use to make videos of their charts?

Pros?

Cons?
You've gotta be in it to win it.

I've heard of Camtasia but it has mixed reviews. Hoping to find something better to work with.

I use 'Snagit 12' by a company called TechSmith. It works easily and flawlessly, can record for hours and hours, and is easy to edit you vids.

I like to record long periods of price action, with an EA managing the trade, and then play it back at high speed, so I can see what is happening. Then I can adjust the EA to work better, etc.

Also it is great for spike trading news announcements. You can see what is happening to price in the fraction of a second after news comes out. You can also see what your broker is doing during that time (increasing spread, etc.) and also how your EA is handling the whole thing. Then, you can adjust to be better prepared for the next time.

Then too, you will find it useful for lots of other things, recording online seminars you are in, etc.

Support from TechSmith is excellent, and they have email tips to help you to be a power user, if you want.

There is a small fee for Snagit, but to me it is worth much more, considering all the good I get out of it.

Good Luck,

Bob

Yes I also use Camtasia; it’s really enough for such a video recording service!

Cool thread, I was also struggling to find out. Camtasia, ApowerREC looks great and easy. I have another question regarding editing, is there any app like Microsoft Movie Maker which was stopped?

Camtasia latest version. I think there should be even some plugin already for some browser to make some basic capture of what's going on on some window if you need that. I have used only Camtasia and Adobe products though, hope it helps.

If it looks too good to be true, it's probably a scam! Let the buyer beware.

Yes, it’s very small software but enough; on the other hand, nowadays there have so many online applications.

I am always always always using Camtasia studio latest version, I have never seen anything which comes even close to that matter out there. How does that sounds to you ? Better not to stick with anything else if some issue will arise over time.

Yes, and it’s a small software; don’t need high configuration as like Adobe software’s!

But I see; it’s a paid software and the yearly charge is not small! Can you please mention any free software?
