Italy IHS Markit Services PMI
Based on data gathered from a sample of about 400 enterprises involved in the Italian service sector, the Markit/ADACI Italy Services PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) measures sales, employment, inventories, and pricing. A rating of greater than 50 suggests that the services sector is generally increasing, while a reading of less than 50 indicates that it is generally contracting.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

German Unemployment Rises More Than Forecast
Germany's unemployment increased more than expected in May as the economic recovery was not sufficient to bring a marked improvement in the labor market. The increase in the number of people out of work more than doubled to 25,000 in May, data from the Federal Labor Agency showed Tuesday. This follows an increase of 11,000 in the previous month, which was revised up from 10,000.

UEFA European Football Championship Unlikely To Give Major Boost To German Retail - Ifo
Only supermarkets, beverage retailers and specialized sports goods stores in Germany are likely to register any significant growth in sales as the country hosts the UEFA Euro 2024 football tournament that kicks off in the middle of the month, the ifo institute said Monday. The ifo business confidence indicator for the retail industry rose to -13.3 points in May from -14.5 points in April.

Eurozone Manufacturing Activity Posts Slower Contraction
Downturn in the euro area manufacturing activity softened in May as production moved closer to stabilization and orders fell at a slower pace amid the rising business sentiment, final HCOB survey results from S&P Global showed on Monday. The manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 47.3 in May from 45.7 in April. The flash estimate was 47.4.
