How long on a demo account

It depends strictly on your, your abilities and your character, because some traders prefer to stay on demo for too long but it's not recommended by professional traders to do it. Everything because you will get used to trading without losses, and it will be very difficult to setup your mood for a real trading.
Our organism likes those things which aren't required enough resources and energy actually. Anyway, as soon as you understand that you are ready for starting real trading, you can move from demo account and start trading with real money. I guess, it's enough for you to see the positive dynamics of your trading on demo, for example, if you see that you start making profits and your strategy works, you can try to move on real account.

Beginners should practice for at least two months on a demo account before trading with real money. A demo account gives you an idea of the dynamics of trading. You will learn how forex works and slowly develop your own strategy.

The time frame will vary from one trader to another. It will depend on the particular trader how fast they can sharpen their skills on a demo account. It is good to practice various trading strategies and conditions on different platforms using a demo account. Once the trader gathers enough confidence, sets up the right mental frame, and starts making virtual profits frequently, it is time to enter the real market. It may take weeks or months to achieve that level.

That depends on your ability to make a profitable return, as far as i can remember it took me 8 months to switch from demo to live. One of my colleagues took almost a year to switch to live. So, I will say that keep on practicing until you think you are confidently ready to go live.

I think you shouldn't set a limit on how long you use a demo account. It should be based on your confidence and the consistency in your trading. It took me at least 6 months and even now if I have a run of bad trades I will head back to a demo to regain my confidence.

I think everyone needs a different amount of time based on their strategy, how much they studied, and how emotional they are.
I would say after 6-8 weeks I'd start to dabble with a live account to start to get your emotions attuned to the fact it's now real money.
And just use 0.01 lots.

I recently began trading on a demo account because I am new to trading. To the best of my knowledge, I believe a trader should first practice on a demo account before moving on to a live account. In essence, there is no specific fixed time, in my opinion.

I would not set a clear time frame for working on a demo account, because I think that this is not entirely correct. At least, I think it is right to work with a demo account until the moment of complete self-confidence.

It is generally recommended for traders to spend a sufficient amount of time practising on a demo account before transitioning to live trading.
This can help traders get a feel for the market and build confidence in their abilities. But what may work for you may not work for me.
Some traders may choose to use a demo account for a few weeks or months, while others may use it for longer periods of time.
Ultimately, the length of time a trader spends on a demo account will depend on their individual goals, needs, learning approach, etc.

Instead, it continues as we trade, building on our knowledge and experience just as we did as children. As long as the traders can recognise market emotion and choose when to follow the market and when not to, they will undoubtedly benefit.
It depends from person to person and their skill. How much time it took them to grasp all the knowledge and technicalities.

I Demo traded for a year in 2005. Even as a professional account manager, i still connect my Live trades to Demo account and use it to tweak daily, As i can not connect my live accounts managed in public, not only due to the size, But i like just being on lowkey.
