I don't think 3 weeks is nearly long enough, but everyone is different since some learn more quickly. I was on demo for about 6 months.

Disagree with this. It isn't pure gambling, traders make decisions based off of knowledge and other factors. Yes, sometimes those educated guesses may be wrong but you don't just go betting on nothing hoping for luck.

They wouldn't give you any information about their spreads? I can't say much about blueberry markets as I've never used them personally. I trade with CedarFX, they don't charge commission and only have spreads (which are relatively low), so I suppose it could be said that it's easier to track those costs without having to keep up with both.

Bonus and Brokers

Sounds about right. I don't understand why people believe brokers would just give free money away without a catch. Especially these really large too good to be true sounding offers. I've read many reviews on FPA and other sites where traders don't understand why the broker won't process the withdrawal that includes profits made from a bonus. Honestly, you rarely win in the end and it's better to just choose a broker with lower fees that to have to worry about them making their "bonus" money back.

I think the most costly would come down to either spreads or commission. I'd also consider other factors...some brokers may charge for account miniatous, inactivity, and withdrawals.

As a fellow US trader, I feel your pain, or at least I did when I first started looking for a broker. I wound up with CedarFX, they're very good but also use MT4. Wishing you luck in the search if you still haven't settled on a broker.

I think time and experience just helps traders to manage their emotions better. More seasoned traders understand that losses are normal and are able to shake it off and keep going. Beginners get a lot more upset about it and try to regain that money but wind up losing more in the end. It's a hard lesson to learn, but understanding trading psychology can help us to identify when this is happening and to put a stop to it.

Everyone has different needs, but I think all of these components should be considered:1.) What assets does the broker offer for trading? (FX, crypto, indices, stocks, etc.)2.) What leverage does the broker offer?3.) What platform does the broker use? 4.) What methods can be used to deposit and withdraw? How long does it take to process withdrawals?5.) Don't expect 0 slippage because it's almost impossible to completely avoid, but I get that you're trying to find the best broker to try to avoid it. Just keep that in mind.

Depends on how you'd define "experienced". I think I'm pretty good at trading, but have a long way to go to be an expert for sure. I do think there are some really good, profitable traders around with a lot more experience though.
