more than 50% of DD
when the EA is supposed to close its batch of trades?
I understand the step closing system... but more than 50% of DD... its far away from 30%...
Willgart - do you actually own and run the EA?
no, I check it for now to see how the EA really works before getting a decision.
a 50% DD while supposed to be limited to 30%... what's the next surprise? :)
I'll certainly get Rev Trader Pro which appear to be safer... or dinamix pro (low stop loss, but no enough history)

willgart posted:clearly you do not understand this EA, if you look at the backtests this DD is perfectly normal, check agressive test and youll see relative dd getting into 70% and maximal dd into 57%. while this is quite high this is because it is on agressive setting. You choose your own risk tolerance, not the bluemonkey! http://bluemonkeyea.com/tests/StrategyTester20140105aggressive.htmfxtrader10 posted:willgart posted:

NEVER trust any MT4 back test DD.
the DD is calculated ONLY when a trade is closed and you till have trades opened.
MT4 don't calculates the floating DD.
check the MT4 published statement here:
http://statements.forexpeacearmy.com/blue_monkey_real/statement_new.htm
the DD is more than 50% but MT4 calculates a DD of 9.9% only!!!
you see the difference? 50% versus 10%?
so a back test with 57% of DD means what? 250% of real DD... so a margin call?
its also why a lot of persons are surprised to see that a martingale system kill their accounts so quickly... because the back test provides false expectations.
its critical to track EA like bluemonkey for a long period to see how the DD is in the reality.
what you'll do if the DD will be higher than 57%?
also, can you explain why in the back test we don't see any trade closed while the system is supposed to close some trades after 30% of DD? action occurring last week, but not in the bac tests...
the back test demonstrates that its not the same EA (same version) or not the same configuration as the published one.
also we need to have the back test for ALL the pairs, not just eurusd.

I think with system like this EA it is better to not use stop loss.
Only if you withdraw regularly. I hope this system lasts a very long and profitable time. However without a stop loss in place any system will wipe your account clean eventually. The bad part is you never know when that might be. Maybe tomorrow, maybe five years.

Take a look in the main account... The ea was doing good until December 23. After that it seems that the strategy is not working anymore...
We know holidays is not good to trade and we made this mistake, at least me.
But how about you guys, are you using also another EA that you recommend?
Thanks

finally the trades has been closed... -60%
so the idea of closing the trades by batch to not get a 30% DD doesn't works. and instead of loosing 30%... about 70% to 80% lost.
or does the account got a margin call?
but no so bad, the account has 88% profit in 3 months!
so if the next 3 months are following the same pattern, we can expect an additional 100% profit...

We did hit the SL but it was very unfair because our trades should have closed 2 times and they didnt due to our broker.
We will be changing broker.

they don't close them???
wow.
certainly due to the very low volatility.
there is no demands accepting your orders...
I can see no move for minutes for multiple currencies in the past days.
will you publish new back tests based on your updated version?
wow.

Willgart - you seem to contradict yourself....one minute you're saying not to rely on back tests and now your asking for back tests!!

I have to say firstly I'm not connected with BlueMonkey in any way so this review is completely unbiased.
I agree they had problems with their broker please my trades over the last two weeks have been profitable and all closed. I've some sells open from today in a tiny loss but otherwise everything has been great and I think others who have been using the EA should come on here and say whether they have been making profits or not. It's a real shame bluemonkeys chart looks the way it does now. What a blow!!!

no, I still don't trust them.
but we'll see how the result will be compared to what's really occurred.
does the EA will handle the 30% DD as we saw in the real life? and what will be the calculated DD by MT4? (remember, mt4 calculate it when a trade is closed, which was the case during this big buy batch)
its a great test to see the difference between the back test and the real life...
