I was wondering why other participants are so much concerned about Lot sizes and trying to compare it with Real account. This is just a competition and everyone has a choice of selecting huge lots. Suppose if Ballztrader would have wiped out his account using these huge lots how many of you would be shouting here ??
Still 2 weeks are left ... Get back to trading and winning .. cheers ... !!!! Best of Luck to everyone.

The market has known for months that there were some massive option-related stop-losses below the previous lows at 79.75 and unfortunately those losses were triggered at the most illiquid time of the day, NY close/Sydney open. The market probably moved 3 times more than would have been the case were both Europe and NY in full flow.

What gap? This dude lost his money fair and square. That's what you get when you have 5 open trades of 1000 lots each and get a margin call. I guess the stopout level must be 100% or even more.

A little scary how you would now owe the broker $129,247.31. One would think a margin call would be initiated regardless of a gap down.

I'm not stating that the loss was unfair. And it was likely there was no stoploss set.
The only way you can end up with a negative balance is that there was no price available at the point when the margin call had to be activated, i.e. gap.
