another 2 trades hit the 20 pips trailing threshold, and triggered. All 3 trades profited.😉😉😉
LivenFX,
What is your final result for these trades? Others stopped out with losses, was the Compuforex_Trail EA able to lock a good part of your profit?

hi
I am thinking that maybe is not good to use trailling in FGB trades. This is definitely going to alter its long term performance and backtest results. You may lock 20-30 pips and the trades hit the trail sl and wont go negative but you may lose 300... The bot is not a scalper anyway...this may work only if its trades profit always at the begining...
tell me what you think....

Chris,
Yeah...the 2nd photo is the final result - "history" screenshot it is. profit = 13 + 12 +10
In the comment column = FGB [sl]
Means it is closed with "stop lost".
Thank you for your reply, LivenFX. Well, 35 pips profit is great comparing to 90 pips loss. It means +125 ...
The trailing stop may sometimes be an obstackle for reaching high profit on a trade, although it can help to make the trading results more consistent.

Chris

Hi
Yes, I am not sure anymore about the settings - which one is the correct computertrail expert working (from yesterday?) working?
What are really the settings? I am confused with it.
Livenfx/kennyhubbard - please share your settings/creation. I am not sure where to go really....😲
Thank you
Carol

hi.. yup i use the default.
somehow, what catch my attention is to play with the trail start #, & trail %
The trail %, if you longed for higher locking profit then put e.g. (From 50%) 66% for instance, it should lock when pips goes -ve direction. Alway a but, then also potentially missing chance to wait for spike profits if the instrument fluctuation is high.
The latest TRAILING EA has come with default 80% of trail_percent (correct me if am wrong).
seriously, i am still blur on how the decay works blehhhhhhh
😕😕😕😕😕

read the kenny's elaboration again from url [http://www.donnaforex.com/forum/index.php?topic=3193.0].
See some lights about the point of how decay effects the trailing_percent at timely basis (per Bar >(over the) time m1;m5;m15)

Has anyone else had the problem of this thing not closing winning trades? I had a set of trades that put me up over +12%, then came crashing down to -6%, back up to +11% now back down about -4%. All the while the trades were kept open, even when it was winning by 100+ pips.
Does anyone know what triggers this thing to close winning trades?

hi
I think if you make any modification to its settings such as alter the lot size it is considered a restart and it will lose connection of the open trades. Had same problem. Now i think the fix it with the new ver. but i am not risk it. Just put it in a new chart and if you are going to alter anything reloded to a m15 chart.
hope this helps

what i have noticed is that the bot tries to jump relatively late onto breakouts, just like today (2nd March) and then it looks like its opening additional positions in the pullback.
I have seen this working well but it is also adding risk beacuse it is adding to an position which is already underwater (which is normally not a good strategy). Maybe a better way could be identified to deal with this.
Otherwise overall not a bad product.
