Not sure what you mean by this account has wiped out. It started with 10k and even if we were to liquidate now we would still be up almost 80%. My goal is 100% a year and this account has only been trading since August. If we take a hit like that we would still be on track to hit my target and then some. If we dont take a huge hit we will have already surpassed that substantially. Am I missing something here?
Dustin
P.S. No need to yell. And on another note, our company has more integrity than to cover up this account with a new one. You are now discussing things you know nothing about. It seems as if you have fallen into that type of trap before. Please do not bring baggage from past experiences that are totally unrelated to this discussion.

Dustin, do not worry.
These are people with no trading experience.
Anyone who knows a little of markets, know that every work plan has its periods of difficulty.
This is one of those but, as you may at this point the results are amazing.

Unfornaturnately, Flopps, by deactive EA, it will only stop hedging positions but not adding losing basket. I found out this because I did exactly you did. Only way to stop EA for the pair is to uncheck "allow live trade". I have asked Ivan who told me this is normal behavior for the TEA.

My V1.89 of tomsea hedges regularly even when "not activated". I regularly deactivate pairs that I no longer want to trade and what happens to me is that hedging still functions as normal but when a basket is closed, a new one is not opened. If a hedge is still in place, it carries on managing that until slowly there will be no open positions.

maybe you (deactivate EA+allow hedging) the pair *when* only one side is with open trades,
so it'll not hedge & just manage those opened trades accordingly?
hmm... i don't think i would want to unhedge when i got 2 sides opened... wonder how the EA will work with that... safer to demo that to find out more.

the large drawdown of TEA stems from accelareted add on to losing basket with fix interval instead of slowing down addon when trend speed up. both large losing basket compounds with increasing lot size make very difficult to avoid margin call. Unforturnately, TEA does not provide a control to stop addon temporally without lose ablity to manage open positions. One solution I can think of is to close profitable addon before turn to lose again during raging trend.

Hello all. Can anyone explain to me why some trades in a basket close for no apparent reason? Sometimes, 1,2,3 trades will close while 5 or 6 remain open and then new trades continue to get added to the remaining basket. I understand that any single trade losing 600 pips will be closed and that the TP per trade is 30 pips, but many times, neither of these are the case, but the trades sttill close anyway. Perhaps there is some rule or set of rules in the logic that governs this (I hope so!) but I would like to know what they are. If it is proprietary information, bummer. Can Ivan or anyone else comment or enlighten me on this, even a little bit? Thanks in advance.

Another question I have on baskets is about the maximum drawdown percent setting. My understanding is that this is set individually for each pair, and thus pertains only to the current open basket for that pair. Therefore, for example, if the setting is 40% for EG, and the equity in that open basket at any time falls by 40% of the cost of the current basket, then all trades in that basket will close, but the others will not, unless they have also declined 40% (or a different % if it is different for that pair). This is 40% of the cost of the current open basket, not of the total account equity. Is that correct?
If so, then I would like to have a real-time report of what % each basket is currently drawn down. My understanding is that Myfxbook drawdown numbers are the max to date on the entire portfolio. How can we get them, or someone, to provide a basket level report?
Thanks.

The top two are the same account. We created the second because we have a site that only pushes the Mirror and not the EA and to keep confusion down we didn't want people posting about the EA in the Mirror trader only thread so we just created a second version of the same account.
The last one is the Mirror trading account. IE the actual account the mirror trader users are mirroring.

Look, I mainly develop proprietary stuff, but I've been watching this system some time with interest. In light of the recent events, I'd like to offer up some advice. The system is what it is, but I think a much safer way to trade it would be something like:
Long Only EURUSD
Short Only EURJPY
Long Only USDJPY
In this way you're long one EUR, short one EUR. Long one USD, short one USD. Long one JPY, short one JPY.
If the JPY is trending, your drawdown would only be in one of the pairs.
If the EUR is trending your drawdown will only be in one of the pairs.
If the USD is trending, your .... you getting the idea?
You could do any combination as long as it looks like a tri-arb ring. EURUSD,EURGBP,GBPUSD or EURUSD,EURCAD,USDCAD... we could do this forever, but I'm sure by now you get what I'm saying. It's fractional disparity in play.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION TO PEOPLE TRADING THE EA. It's to the developers. I don't know what the code looks like and this could very well screw up an account. Depending on what's in the code, this could very well work and work well. I ran similar systems a few years ago in this configuration and while they were eventually replaced with something better, they worked.
Feel free to contact me at mclean [at] mcleanvancleve.com if you're interested in discussing further. If not, then I wish you all the best.

OK - if I understand, and I really tried to, the second and third links are both the mirror system? If so, then why on Earth do they look so completely different? Sorry, but for me you are increasing confusion not decreasing it! And what is the purpose of re-branding the EA in the first place? I can see no reason except that it allows you to keep your word to limit the sales of Tom's EA while allowing you to violate that statement by selling more of it under a different name. A very sleazy practice!

Hi everyone,
here is my plan for cover, and maybe gain from the drawdown.
This is only to use after level 8 or 9 in a drawdawn, or (better, for me) when the account reaches the 30/40% dd.
Using this system we avoid the risk of burn our total account, we have only to accept a normal loss, but when the dd will continue for some level again we could close with a gain.
Starting at level 8/9 we have to open a revers position at the same price, or similar, of the software, and use the same tp as him (in our case is a stop loss) . We repeat this operation for the next other level, and change the tp/sl of all ours manual position as the software.
So, if the basket will be closed after our first manual position, we will bring home a loss, when it will close after the second position maybe in balance or small loss, but in the next level we could even earn some.
Here is an example with the current dd in the WPFX Live Account.
Level 8, 0.15 in a small accoun rl1, 0.46 in this case (Dustin live account):
0.46 entry 0.8167
0.63 entry 0.8140
0.83 entry 0.8115
0.92 entry 0.8067
Tp of the basket at this level 0.8086, so the gain of ours manual position opened at the same (or similar) price of Tom, are:
0.46 pips 81 gain $ 372
0.63 pips 54 gain 340
0.83 pips 29 gain 240
0.92 pips -19 gain -174
Total $ 778
The loss, when the basket was closed after our first manual position would have been +\- 100 pips/ $ 460.
When Tom had closed the basket at the tp price, instead closing all position at 40% dd with the Liquidation setting, the result was this, $ 778 instead a large loss. May have opened other levels, but our first manual positions would earn even more.
Plus with this method we will not have problem of margin call, because we cover the margin used by the EA with our position.
Up & down of this plan:
UP: - we eliminate "dreaded dd" why we cover they.
- We do not have margin call.
- We could work with some more pairs, because we don´t dread dd.
- We gain some "extramoney" when the dd continue a pair level after our first manual trade.
DOWN: - we could have a loss when the basket is closed after our first or second manual position (but we not burn our total account, we have only an accettable loss)
- We have to monitoring the market often to see when the software open new position in the basket (but, i mean, this is a work, not a hobby, isn'it?)
I'm sorry for my terrible english.

Hi my Tom's is going pretty well but interested in SuitsFx's advice. Could someone explain better?
Also do you think it would be value, through trade copier, to exclude first three 0.01 trades (run Tom in demo and copy to live without 0.01 lots)?
Thanks
