Hi, did you mean (hundreds) of pips or thousands of pips? The reason I ask is I wonder if pips on a cent account are magnified by factor of 10.

Yes, true. Thanks for that reminder. That's a downside (or upside) to having the "check and balance."

Hi there, thanks for the link. It looks like it's a decent system. The risk to reward is not as high as I would like but nevertheless, it's legit trading. Thumbs up.

Good lord, it's time to make a withdrawal request on that account. It does seem unusual not to make a withdrawal request by now.

@stian Yes, that makes sense. I've never traded on fundamentals so I was trying to figure out the thought process.

What does that mean for the markets if Clinton becomes president? I guess I don't understand the reasoning why USD would gain or lose value with Clinton.

I agree that martingale will eventually blow up a small account unless a trader is very versed at using it during a limited time during the day and if they know what they're doing. But if you leave a martingale system alone (set-and-forget) then it will eventually blow up your account.Yes, a tell tell sign that a system is martingale is if the equity line is below the balance line. Also, the spike down and up in equity is a sign of closing a losing basket of orders for net profit. It seems there are better methods for trading that allow the person to sleep better at night. With martingale, ...

Not necessarily, pairs involving XAU, MXN, NOK, and SEK count more pips by a factor of 10 which creates a bias and throws that whole pip count off. From what I know, he trades CFDs a lot which could throw off the pip count more than a factor of 10. I believe myfxbook is working to make adjustments so that the correct pip count is shown.

Hi pulgarcito, you mentioned CALMAR MAR ratio. I'm interested in learning how these statistics are meaningful as it relates to your strategy.

Out of curiosity, may I ask why you (and others) hide trading history, etc.? That information would be useful for analyzing your performance so it would be nice to see :)
A simple but a serious question

You asked for direction so I'm going to give my take on it. If trading is something that you want others to do so that you can follow their trades then I would research and learn about the various statistics that are provided on a myfxbook performance page. This way, you understand what you're looking at and therefore understand which performances to follow and which to look past.If you're in the market to buy a car, you would want to know about cars in detail so that you choose the right car for you, not the car that has the best marketing to catch your eye.Good luck shopping arou...

Yes, it seems more decent than some others but I wished it were possible to determine with myfxbook how many trades in the same currency pair were ever entered into simultaneously (max open trades in the same pair). It would be a useful statistic. If this is already possible, someone let me know where to look.

stian, how many significant events do you estimate occur each year? When did the CHF unplug from EUR and also, what does that unplugging actually mean? As for the more gradual events like rate hikes and cuts, I'm guessing that is just business as usual. I'm trying to figure out how many and how often are the out-of-ordinary events like BREXIT and CHF Unplug.

I've been demo trading for about 5 years but it has been only recently in the last year that I started paying attention to the fundamentals. Since the time I started paying attention, the BREXIT is the most memorable event. My question is: isn't there always some sort of catastrophic event happening in the markets? What were some of the last few significant events from history? (I'm asking, I don't know)

Yeah, the broker did have 0 margine on hedges. Sorry to confuse you with my later rant about the EA in demo vs live (it was meant to be a side note).

Thanks for posting this sirius1fx.Yes, I had developed an EA which with certain settings, implemented this idea. It was a couple of years ago and I remember it performed amazingly on demo but unfortunately, it did not perform like that at all during live testing. I assume brokers have a system in place to prevent certain things. As a side note (since a lot of people are so quick to discredit demo accounts), in my experience, this was the only instance of an EA that benefited from a demo environment but otherwise, any other demo testing I've done has been valid. There are a lot of people that...
