Dear Colleagues, The unfortunate events following the Swiss intervention caused my Broker (Alpari) to enter administration and cease trading. While my own funds are intact and our risk software prevented any trading in the Swissie on 15th Jan, the account has needed to be closed and therefore we will need to start again using a fresh Broker and account. Sorry for any inconvenience

Thanks for this. The issue is that in order to back test both working together then I need the original EA so that I can change parameters in both. It's not a difficult EA in what it does so it maybe possible to reproduce something similar. Its trying to work out the entry parameters. There's an EA called Pipstrider that does something similar but it would take me two or three weeks to recreate then optimise this EA to vaguely "copy" Caesar. We might try writing one from scratch since it just needs moderating during times of high volatility. We achieve this by switching off t...

Hi Cyberryder, yes, good point. Pressure of our own EA work makes this difficult at the moment but I will certainly set something up in a few weeks

Hi, I am always interested in systems with good consistent equity growth and a low DD. They're hard to find. The main problem is that the Providers and Subscribers all have a focus on reward not risk. Caesar's system did not display the SL's and therefore it's not possible to have a proper risk/reward profile. At no time did any of his subscribers have any idea what they could lose but there was a good history of equity growth. His EA appeared to work for some while with a very poor risk reward. I know I keep going on about it but if you use a hedging EA then that no longer bec...

I heard yesterday that of the trillions traded each day, some $80billion is as a result of Retail traders like us. It would be far more upsetting if it turned out that it wasn't chance.........

Well, good luck with the latest 27 odd trades in severe draw-down. With the dollar weakening while Traders wait for the FOMC minutes tomorrow, I fear a repercussion of the NFP event of Friday only on a worse scale. I still believe that there's some merit in reducing the lot size of the primary trade and hedging at twice the original size at 10pips draw down. This way you have the potential to win both the primary trades and hedge. With a trailing hedge of 15 pips, the original trades would have closed in net profit. I didn't back test this but perhaps someone can?

Yes, the horse definitely bolted ( as above) but now we have to get the horse back and make sure it stays in its stable! Several people have mentioned Hedging. I have a very nice system (Hedge EA) from EA -Coder which works very well with systems like this one. My earlier observation was that in most trading sequences, Caesar's system will take several trades before price reverses. There are few sequences that go immediately in favour of the the trade. It begs the question; I wonder what would happen if he reversed the EA? In the event that he doesn't, then using a Hedge EA like the on...

I've been watching this system for a couple of months. In my view, in order to pay for the subscription, you have to have a £10K account to be able to trade the lot sizes necessary to make a sensible net profit after costs. The system appears to buy at the top and sell at the bottom, which is sort of interesting although this is clearly a subjective observation but it frequently opens multiple positions as a result. This leads to a risk:reward ratio which is considerably worse than 1:1 so the risk of ruin is large unless you have a substantial account. This was demonstrated when the ...
