I can confirm that I have an account running Caesar. I reached 65% equity yesterday but my positions managed to close out and the account is fine. My account doesn't show drawdown either, this is probably down to the way MyFxBook calculates and shows drawdown. This is my account and I'm happy to open up the history to anyone that wants to check it.http://www.myfxbook.com/members/togr/caesar2steveb/1015101Best regards Steve

I haven't been financially raped by SNB. What it appears will happen is that I will be financially raped by the brokers. I'm down with some brokers and up with others. The ones I'm down with are saying "tough luck". The ones I'm up with are saying "manifest error, clause x.x.x" and reversing my trades.Best regards Steve

The Swiss Franc and Swiss banking, long seen as a safe haven for investors. Yesterdays move has to be one of the most ill conceived moves ever. A gradual decrease in the cap level to what the Swiss Bank thought was a realistic level would have been a better economic strategy causing far less economic fallout. The move yesterday smacks of recklessness and even profiteering at some level. You can be sure that somebody somewhere made a lot of money. It's going to shake up the entire FX industry and probably lead to wholesale changes in the way the markets are run. That's my view anyway.Thou...

You probably don't want to hear this at the moment but you should diversify your brokers. Although that said, Alpari won't be the last to go under. I'm hoping to get out with enough to cover my bills for the next 6 months. If I do better than that I'll be happy.I'm experienced two attitudes from brokers at the moment.1) You lost money - tough2) You made money - ah no, see clause x.x.xx in our terms and conditions. We're reversing your trades.I'm seriously contemplating setting up an online petition for a grass roots overhaul of the retail broker industry. In the las...
So I went negative on my live account due to EURCHF removed peg today...

I'm not sure which website you are reading regarding FXCM. All I have seen so far is that they might not be able to respect certain regulatory capital requirements due to "unprecedented volatility." Which means they don't have enough cash in the bank to fulfill regulations which is probably where Alpari found itself. If you can PM me a link I'd be interested in reading "the other forum" as I am now in deficit with FXCM and thought I was going to be safe for it.Best regards Steve

Liquidity got pulled from the markets so there was nothing to close your position against. That's why you didn't get a margin call. Best regards Steve

This is going to take many brokers out of the game and the effects will probably cause some changes in the way the market operates. Best regards Steve

Keltner has a slip parameter, whether it's using or not is a different matter. Certainly it should introduce a spread check. That would have helped yesterday and I think should really be a standard feature in all EA's to prevent trades opening in situations like this. With regards to Wildprofit. It depends on your broker whether they chase the loss or not. Some have T&C's that state the don't chase deficit accounts. I suggest you check yours. Even if it doesn't the chances of them successfully chasing you for it depends on your and there jurisdiction I guess.Best regards...

You can be certain that any adjustments will be in the brokers favour. There was no warning, SNB said it needed to be a surprise. Stop losses were not honoured because for a while there was no liquidity. The market makers pulled out. There are some traders saying they called it, but law of averages would dictate that some people would be right in their guestimates.Best regards Steve

People often don't agree with each other. As long as disagreement is done in a civil manner I don't mind. I am sometimes abrupt and present things as facts when they aren't so I can understand I rub people up the wrong way. My wife has been trying to knock it out of me for years. :)I think the way that the liquidity providers work is that they prioritise liquidity to the brokers who provide them with the largest client base. So therefore the larger brokers will get the liquidity first during such events. In this case though for a while there was no liquidity, nobody had a clue what...

It's down to individual broker feeds, some of them locked out entirely during the morning which affected the ability to open and close trades. I'm pretty sure that individual brokers would have also been showing completely different prices which would have triggered trades for some and not for others. This morning was literally a game of roulette.Best regards Steve

Sorry to hear that, I think today was more a game of pot luck than anything else. I for one have two other completely wiped accounts with other strategies. If it's done anything it's cemented my opinion that a portfolio of different brokers/strategies are the way to operate.Best regards Steve

You can't really blaim Keltner for a black swan event. I've spoken to several of my brokers in a frantic last few hours and they all said liquidity providers pulled the feeds. I still have positions opened with FXDD that they won't shut on Chf pairs. The account blew simply because it was impossible for the trades to close. I myself have two blown accounts, but also some account s with good profits.Best regards Steve

The owner of the robot doesn't disconnect the EA during December and January as evidenced by the account - why would he suggest others do?As Vladrac stated there are varying opinions on the matter. I backtested the EA and the only periods that I avoided are the week before and the week after, i.e. the two week period that a lot of people are on holidays for. Backtest data supports this decision. I also mentioned that if you look at previous histories both volume and ATR indicators do not support the commonly held belief that you should not trade in December and January. Maybe the Ea author...

I'm commenting on two EA's at the moment. Keltner which I own. Rev trader pro, which I'm following as I was considering buying it and so was doing due diligence. You know what, I retired once from analysing commercial EA's and providing my input on them. I think I'm going to do it again. Signing out. Good luck!Best regards Steve

Facts can hardly be described as negative shit, except by people who are trying to conveniently ignore them because they conflict with their desired view of the situation. Look, at the end of the day, I'm just shining a light on what might be some crap that people are possibly going to stand in. If you want me to go away, I'm happy to do so.Best regards Steve
