What do you think will happen in the economy of Canada as I have read in this article: Ups and Downs of Canadian Economy (https://www.fmfxreviews.com/canadian-economy/) that Trump administration, however, may hurt the Canadian economy with its “putting America first” campaign.

In my trading, I never used CAD even USD/CAD trading pair! So, I am not concern about economic status of Canada! Actually, my personal trading system works on only GBP/USD and USD/JPY that’s way in my trading I use only these 2 trading pairs!

US action may hurt Canada but the demand for Canadian oil is likely to remain strong and Oil is a strong driver of the Canadian economy (especially the export market)

I don't think Canada will be damaged by Trump's plans or campaigns.. It's publicly known that he is not a fan of Canada, but their economy is really good. Also US won't be interested in loosing their 2nd largest supplier of goods. I would suggest this article is lacking facts. It may be some sort of 'speculation'

My thoughts exactly. The CAD is tied to the price of oil. As long as that remains so the Canadians will be okay, I think.

How closely correlated with oil do you think CAD is?

Well the connection of both should be close because oil affects Canada's economy -> Canada's economy affects CAD so -> Oil affects CAD. This is just basic knowledge mixed with little logic. I am not 100% sure how close is the connection between oil and CAD but I am quite sure there is a connection. Hope that helps :)

to understand this well, read this article titled 'Canadian Dollar and Oil Prices' (https://itrader-reviews.com/canadian-dollar-oil-prices/) it shows that oil prices has something to do or correlates with the value of exchange rate between the CAD and the USD.
