i rented a VPS, i have put my MT4 on the desktop.
lets say its C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\ICMarket MT4
i open up the terminal. it created folder under
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal
this MT4 only use data under "terminal" folder no matter what i do on the original folder "ICMarket MT4" on desktop
like if i want to update EA i have to go that "terminal" folder. if i put in "ICMarket MT4" folder it will not work.
anyone know how to fix this? make it running like usual only read data from ICMarket folder?
much thanks

Since version 6.00 MetaQuotes use "common" data folder, instead of "standard" .
I don't like this, since Windows98 exist, but we have to habituate with this.
Any way, I try to explain You ,
how I place program (expert) , where it have to be :
1. Open Terminal. (this is good, if You have more than one Terminal)
2. From Terminal , open Editor.
... then use Editor , as Windows-Explorer.
3. In Ediitor , click : File -> Open...
4. Find file and "copy".
5. In Editor , click : Save As ...
... here You will see main MQL4 folder, for this terminal.
6. Select Expert/Script/Indicator sub-folder , if needed.
7. Save ("paste") file.
8. Restart Terminal.

Ivan is right. You need your MT4 open and select data window and then you can drag and drop.
Click on my Name to see My Live Charts and Bio.
