WARNING DO NOT USE THINK FOREX!

I just started running a live think forex account this week using their free VPS which has an average latency of 23ms which is ok but I also am getting absolutely BS execution and mod times of 33,000!! Think forex is definitely slowing this EA down on purpose. I will modify the EA comments and magic numbers and report back with the new results.

I am running the 1.1.6 version live on thinkforex with a vps. Everytime it trades I get tremendous order modification times - above 2000 ms - printed on the chart.

First I though this is because of running it from my desktop, so I installed it on a VPS and it prints again the 2000-ish ms times. Then I thought it might be because of running two eas on one mt4 platform, so I left the MDP alone by itself on a separate platform, but now it does it again. I noticed this happens right after the first set of trades after installation.

I am pretty sure my latency to the broker is on average 3 ms, I measured it several times by different methods.
I also noticed that the times are getting bigger if I don't reinstall the bot and the mt4 (reinstallation of the bot only won't do) - last time it got above 10000ms, which is absurd. I am afraid this is not just a print error, but also affects the trading.

I run it with another broker live on the same vps and I have no such issues there.

I ran out of suggestions and the support seems to be clueless too. I never met a similar problem in the posts on myfxbook.

Did any of you get this problem with the bot?

I am reading about all those trades from today, but I only got 4 and the stupid message!
I am so sad, I do not know what to do... 😭😭😭

no it doesnt do this kind of thing it open trade just for few seconds ..

attention please those who are not getting trade due to order execution prob try this setting

NO=0
AC=8
max SO=2
hard trailing=true
stop order=false
use apply ecn=true
risk mode comm pips=true

its safe as it wont open that much trade it will open less trade but will be in profit also please change your EA comment and magic no.

I can understand magic no. but what is the importance of the changing the EA comment. Is it to avoid confusion?

The reason is that brokers can also track the comments of an EA.

I dont know if they could read the MDP comments in less than 3 sec's.... or bother with it. My trades just flash on and off and they are done. I just leave my coments blank .Just a fun comment, if they wanna try reading it, its like a dog reading hubcaps on a car, its just spinning to fst to bother with...

The process is 100% computerized. No one actually reads the comments. There is a computer program designed to intercept and interfere with the trades. Each EA has a certain behavior and the programs are designed to react to the EAs individuality.

Okay, good to know I'm not alone.
I will also try this out next week and get back with results.

    Thanks fughe,

I already asked thinkforex, they didn't have any server issues. I used the ExTest ForExpat to measure execution and it showed below 200 ms. That's why I think it's not the broker....or if it is, maybe it's something with their mt4 platform.

My four trades today were good - 3 out of 4 were on profit, but it did not continue trading like most of the accounts here (some with the same broker).

I also noticed that when MDP starts to increase the displayed times, it also prints wrong account balance - does not update with the new trades. I am more likely to believe that something is not right with the bot.

I am waiting a response from support though.

No, you don't understand. There is nothing wrong with their servers. They are intentionally causing your trading to fail. You have to call their bluff in such a way that it is in their best interest to stop causing your trades to fail. ALL mt4 brokers do this to some extent.

fughe,

I see what you mean now. I try next week and if it doesn't work, I change the broker.
Thanks for helping.

#1- reduce the number of trades to 4 or 3 or 2 or even 1 if necessary. Keep reducing until you can get at least one good fill every time.

#2- Set 'Additional_Channels' to 8

#3- change the magic number (do this at least once every week)

#4- Change the OrderCmt (do this at least once every week)

#5- deactivate StopOrders

#6-Deactivate HardStopTrailing

#7- change TrailingResolution to 4 or 3 or possibly even 2 if the orders still fall back to a loss.

#8- If Think Forex has a forum...get on their forum and start asking for help as to why their servers have slowed down so much. Wait a couple days for a response...if no response...start a new thread and ask the same questions about their servers being slow but in a different way. Keep doing this until they respond. Make sure you state in the thread you will keep everyone posted on the progress of the problem.

If none of this works....switch brokers.

Hi Fughe - I assume that you are recommending setting the NumOrders_Level to 0? Also, why do you suggest setting the Additional_Channels to 8? Just curious. :)

If anyone knows the difference between NumOrders_Level and Additional_Channels other than what is stated in the manual then I would like to know. I have been profitable with this ea but I still don't understand the difference between these two settings.

:) If u make the additional channels setting to 8, then at the same time there will be 8 orders...and the account can be blow out in minutes:))))

You are correct. the add chan of 8 will open more trading opportunities. The num orders opens riskier trades.

Wrong. the number of trades is controlled by the max trades setting.

Ok - Thanks for the reply. So it is always better (unless you like risk!) to reduce the num orders before reducing the additional channels?

Maybe I need to run a backtest to see what the exact difference is!

The ONLY time the num orders level should be increased above 0 is if you are always getting good fills and good closings.

Interesting - thanks for the info. So if the num orders level is high does that mean the entries are made when the Market is moving very fast, so slippage could be a problem, and when the level is 0 entries are made when price is moving a bit slower?

All I know is that it increases the chance that the orders will fail to be profitable.

It is confusing about FxOpen because Fughe says 'My results are as good as the demo account. It is all about the setup.' But SmoothHedge says 'FXOpen ECN rejects most trading attempts by MDP. It gives Invalid Stoploss errors.'

Fughe, you recommend: #6-Deactivate HardStopTrailing. But Wakeel recommends the opposite: 'hard trailing: true'.

Thanks for further clarification.
