I am finding that every single 15 minute candle on Ic Markets live 5, and also Fxpro real 2 and real 4, there is a pause of at least 6-10 seconds and worse around news releases and hourly candles. This seems to me like some kind of manipulation, as obviously I can't click buy and sell buttons during this time so I am going to have to try ctrader and see if it improves. Have you every experienced similar pauses? unless it's the indicators I am using and therefore need to upgrade resources on VPS also perhaps...

If it's happening at London or NY session, I think one of your indicator, script or EA causing that. Try to reinstall your MT4, or separately install a new MT4.
Also, I would check my Antivirus or FireWall. When they checking incoming data use to block some ports for a few seconds. Except if you are using MAC :)

Run a speedtes.net (probably you know that).
The final speed or ping doesn't matter right now, but If result chart has waving... or sometimes dropping to low, means your internet connection has the issue (Firewall, PC, Wifi - router )
