Australia Ai Group Construction Index
Australian construction activity is measured by the Performance of Construction Index (PCI), which is a composite indicator that provides an overall view of activity in the construction sector. It is a composite index derived from the diffusion indices for the following five indicators: sales, new orders, employment, deliveries and prices. When compared to the previous month, an index value larger than 50 shows that the construction sector has grown, when the index value is less than 50, it indicates that the sector has contracted, and when the index value is 50, it means there has been no change.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the AUD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the AUD.

The Westpac-Melbourne Institute Consumer Sentiment Index declined 0.7 percent to 92.1 in January from 92.8 in December.
