Year-over-year change in retail sales in Brazil is calculated by comparing the consolidated sales of retail products and services during a certain month to the same month the preceding year.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the BRL while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the BRL.
