Canada GDP Growth Rate Annualized
If the rate of change from quarter to quarter were maintained for an entire year, the GDP Annualized Growth Rate would represent the increase in GDP. Domestic consumption, which accounts for 58% of total GDP use, is the most important component of GDP, followed by gross fixed capital formation (22%) and government expenditure (19%). 32% of the GDP goes for exports of products and services, while imports account for 33%, resulting in a 1% reduction in overall GDP. The remaining 2% is accounted for by non-profit organizations that provide services to households' final consumption spend and investment in inventory.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the CAD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the CAD.
