The services sector accounts for 72% of total GDP in Cape Verde, with public administration accounting for 18%, real estate and other services accounting for 13%, wholesale and retail trade accounting for 12%, transport accounting for 11%, and hotels and restaurants accounting for 7%. The Industry sector accounts for 21% of the total GDP, with construction accounting for 9%, and manufacturing, mining, and quarrying accounting for 8%. Agriculture and fishing generate 7% of the nation's wealth. Among the expenditure components of GDP, household consumption ranks first, accounting for 66% of the total usage, followed by capital formation (36%), and government expenditure (17%). 47% of the GDP accounts for exports of commodities and services, whilst imports account for 67%, resulting in reduction of 20% of total GDP.
