Cyprus GDP Growth Rate QoQ
Cyprus's economy is based on tourism, financial services, and real estate are among the services accounting for over 80% of total GDP. When it comes to expenditures, household consumption is the most important component of GDP, accounting for 70% of total usage. This is followed by government expenditure (16%) and gross fixed capital formation (11%). Trade-in products and services account for 55% of GDP, while imports account for 53% of GDP and contribute 2% to total GDP.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

Eurozone Retail Sales Fall More Than Forecast
Eurozone retail sales declined more than expected in July largely reflecting a notable fall in food and auto fuel sales, official data showed Thursday. Retail sales posted a monthly fall of 0.5 percent, in contrast to the 0.6 percent increase in June, Eurostat reported. Sales were expected to fall 0.3 percent.

Germany's construction sector shrank further in August largely due to the steep fall in new orders, survey results from S&P Global showed on Thursday. The HCOB construction Purchasing Managers' Index fell to 46.0 in August from July's 29-month high of 46.3.

Eurozone Private Sector Growth At 1-Year High
The euro area private sector expanded at the fastest pace in a year in August but the overall pace was sluggish as the service sector held back growth, final survey data from S&P Global showed on Wednesday. The HCOB composite output index rose to 51.0 in August from 50.9 in July. The score was slightly below the initial estimate of 51.1.
