Euro Area Core Inflation Rate YoY
When computing the core inflation rate in the Euro Area, the weighted average of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) aggregates is used. This excludes volatile commodities such as energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, which are subject to dramatic price swings.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.
