On the spending side, household consumption is the most important component of GDP and accounts for 55% of total usage, followed by government expenditure (25%) and gross fixed capital formation (20%). Exports of products and services account for 38% of GDP, while imports account for 39%, resulting in a net loss of 1% percent of total GDP.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

German Industrial Output Rebounds; Exports Fall
Germany's industrial output expanded for the first time in four months in July, while exports declined on weaker demand from the United States and China.
