The services sector of the Indian economy is the most important and fastest expanding sector of the economy. More than 60% of GDP is accounted for trade, hotels, transport, and communication, financing, insurance, real estate, and business services, and community, social, and personal services. Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries account for around 12% of total output, however, employ more than 50% of the labor force in the country. Manufacturing contributes 15% of GDP, construction contributes 8%, and mining, quarrying, electricity, gas, and water distribution account for the remaining 5%.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the INR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the INR.
