Mexico's Retail sales report gives a consolidated picture of the total amount of money that was spent on retail goods and services over a specified period of time. Retail sales in Mexico are cyclical, variable, and relatively significant to the country's overall economic output.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the MXN while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the MXN.

Mexico GDP Growth Slows To 3.5% Amid Tertiary Sector Slowdown
Mexican economic growth moderated in the fourth quarter after accelerating in the previous two quarters, largely led by a deceleration in the growth of the tertiary sector, preliminary data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, or INEGI, showed on Tuesday. Gross domestic product advanced an unadjusted 3.5 percent year-over-year in the December quarter.
