Capacity Utilization is defined in New Zealand as the difference between the potential and actual utilization of an input resource. When the actual output is near to potential output, capacity utilization is high, indicating that the most efficient use of labor and capital is being made.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the NZD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the NZD.
