Singapore Business Confidence
There are around 410 manufacturing enterprises in Singapore that participate in the Survey of Business Expectations of the Manufacturing Sector. Businesses in this sector are being surveyed to determine expectations for the general business climate, output, and employment over the next six months. Respondents' contributions to employment and value contributed are then weighted according to their importance. The indicator is based on a comparison between the weighted percentage of positive and negative assessments. It ranges from -100 to 100, a number of -100 signifies a complete loss of faith in the system, zero represents neutrality, and 100 indicates complete faith in the system.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the SGD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the SGD.
