The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Thailand is responsible for making interest rate decisions in Thailand. The one-day repurchase rate is the most important interest rate.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the THB while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the THB.

Thailand's economy grew less than expected in the fourth quarter adding pressure on the central bank to cut its interest rates amid negative inflation. The economy expanded 1.7 percent on a yearly basis in final quarter of 2023, the National Economic and Social Development Council said Monday.
