United Kingdom BoE Interest Rate Decision
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England determines the benchmark interest rate in the United Kingdom (MPC). The repo rate is the Bank of England's official interest rate. The repo rate relates to the Bank of England's open market operations with a number of counterparties (banks, building societies, securities firms).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the GBP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the GBP.

UK Budget Shortfall Overshoots Estimate
UK government borrowing increased more than expected and also exceeded the official estimate in August, adding pressure on Chancellor Rachel Reeves ahead of the November budget. Public sector net borrowing increased GBP 3.5 billion from the last year to GBP 18.0 billion in August, the Office for National Statistics said Friday.
