United States Redbook YoY
In the United States, the Johnson Redbook Index is a sales-weighted index that measures the growth in same-store sales from one year to the next in a sample of large general merchandise stores that represents around 9,000 businesses. Sales in stores that have been open for at least 12 months are referred to as same-store sales. According to the index's monetary worth, it outperforms the similar 'official retail sales statistic collected and reported by the United States Department of Commerce by more than 80%. Using retailer performance estimates collected and interpreted by Redbook, the Index is compiled and published. It is these estimations that are combined into the Index and its sub-groups, which are weighted according to sales. Weeks are retail weeks (from Sunday to Saturday), and they are evenly distributed throughout the month.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.

U.S. Consumer Sentiment Index Dips Slightly Less Than Previously Estimated In July
The University of Michigan released revised data on Friday showing consumer sentiment in the U.S. deteriorated by slightly less than previously estimated in the month of July. The report said the consumer sentiment index for July was upwardly revised to 66.4 from the preliminary reading of 66.0. Economists had expected the reading to be unrevised.
