Can somebody explain to me how is it possible for positions which have been opened for more that a year to not incur any costs?

It does not make sense. He is using leverage 1:100 and no broker will give you that for free. There must be some cost for keeping positions open.

It is pointless to keep hedged positions in Forex. There will be always loss due to swaps and there is no strategy how and when to close them.
