I am a structure based swing trader and use harmonics to find correlations in different chart time-frames. Charles Dow put it like this, “Many people seem to think that the change in prices in any one day is complete in itself and there's no relation to larger movements which may be underway. This is not so.”
I have developed a swing trading system based on my own observations of this very same phenomena. I look for correlations in multiple time frames. I keep my trading simple and go with the flow. I trade with the direction of the trend and rarely trade counter-trend trades. Many of my trades can last for days up to a week or longer. When it comes to trade entry I have very specific Rules of Engagement. I have no bullish or bearish bias and always count on my own technical analysis.

“Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that makes you smile. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

Although I would call this a aggressive high-yield system it's Central Focus is the preservation of principal. War is made up of skirmishes and battles, trading is made up of winning trades and losing trades every General knows he's going to lose some of the battles but the trick is to win the war. For most Traders the front line of this war is fought in their there a hard-earned cash trade accounts. We prefer to fight this fight on are terms. We use profits from existing and on going trades to create a equity curve or hedge, above are profit curve of approximately 22% depending on current exposure in the market. This is where we prefer to wage the war. If we have any drawdowns they would be absorbed by the equity built into the system at least up to 22%. We may have as many as 15 assets in trade at any one time and we are constantly adjusting the equity percentage to adjust for our current exposure in the market. Kind of like a yin yang. We also include a buffer of approximately 7% of the current value of the account. This ensures that if we have a catastrophic situation with our Trading the worst case scenario is that our equity would be wiped out and we would still have 7% of the account to begin trading again. The only real exposure to the principal is getting the system started. This is part of our active money management system.

First question I had about this system had to do with the swap fees and how expensive it was going to be maintaining open assets for long period of times so that we could maintain the equity curve? We'll make a full assessment when we get to 100 trades. If anyone has any questions about the system I'd be happy to answer them for you. Happy Trading : )
