Canadian Market Notably Higher Despite Paring Some Early Gains

(RTTNews) - The Canadian market is up firmly in positive territory in early afternoon trades on Wednesday, holding on to a significant portion of its gains, amid easing concerns about tariffs and U.S. President Donald Trump softening his stance against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

The U.S. President toned down his rhetoric on Powell, saying he would like to see him be a little more active in terms of his idea to lower interest rates but have no intention to fire him. Additionally, Trump also admitted that the 145% tariffs on China are "very high" and they will come down substantially.
