It's generally considered that the banks do use news releases to move the market in the direction that suits their order book. Which is the general consensus on the market as a whole. The banks and big players go through a period of accumulation of positions and then a sell-off of these positions. It's far more complicated than this in reality, but always remember you are not the one in control of the markets.

I opened an account with Ingot in November 2023, funded it with $6000.I didn't end up trading there and withdrew the money in January.They sent me back $5683So basically stole $317 off me.They also cancelled my account with no reason given.I would avoid this broker.

Inconsistent in paying outOkay, I have a mixed experience with Nova Funding. Took out a server with them last week. There were some mixups with the setup but we managed to get there in the end.Then this weekend I got an email notifying me ( with ZERO prior warning ) that the server had been suspended.I'd already paid for it when I took it out!So they suspended it with no reason and no notification.I'm running live trades on there with open positions.It's Sunday and despite saying they are 24/7 there is nobody around to solve this problem.I'd avoid using them.

So, I've not been particularly active on here for maybe seven years or so!I've had my head down and been busy getting on with stuff. I recently thought I'd start getting a bit more involved in the community again, maybe try and give some insights from 14 years of trading to the new blood!Just wondering if any of the old guard are around that I used to chat with on here or whether they've all moved on to working at Starbucks or whatever :D

You know I was taught to set a stop loss by many "pro" traders on courses. But over the years and with thousands and thousands of hours of testing I've discovered that a stop loss is actually a pretty poor way to exit trades for many reasons.Exiting on indicators is a far more effective way and clearer signal to exit a position than an arbitrary point on the chart defined by a stop loss.That's my experience anyway.

I opened an account with Black Bull Markets last year. After placing trades for a few weeks I decided their execution was not for me and requested a withdrawal. I was asked to submit photos of myself with my passport and go on a live skype call to confim my identity. I sent my account manager James Chen a request on Skype but never heard back and they have since stopped responding to my emails.

Just had a catch up with a friend of mine who told me Colmex just closed his account and removed ALL his profits. Now I know my friend and I know he will not have been doing anything in breach of his contract.I would avoid Colmex until this is cleared up. I'll keep you posted.BR Steve

No you don't have to be present. Here are your options.1) Go to meeting and vote.2) Fill in the claim form and the proxy voting form. Nominate a proxy ( chairman of meeting I would suggest ) and indicate on your proxy form how you wish them to vote.3) Ignore it all and just wait until they start emailing people about claims.The meeting is simply to decide if the proposals laid out in KPMG's document are acceptable to the clients/creditors. Your open trades will be assessed by KPMG and a decision taken on what the value of your account is. Then you can get monies back, probably not all of it but some.If you had a flat account on the day then you will get an email shortly asking you to log into the claims portal in order to file a claim for your money back.Best regards Steve

Read the proposal and voting proxy form. 'Where there are sufficient funds' is the key here. The proxy form has a specific vote on whether KPMG should take funds out of client money or even get paid.Best regards Steve

Okay so I've flicked through appendix 6 and the relevant forms.If you can't attend the meeting in London on 12th then you can nominate the chairman of the board or someone else to be your proxy and vote for you. The forms allow you to also say how you would like them to vote for you.
