I just presume everyone on the internet is trying to scam me. I especially wouldn't chat to anyone on Instagram about trading :P

It took me a while to stop chasing the losses. Now I have a set and forget mentality when executing trades. As long as I plan ahead set AL and TP I have no reason to be constantly eyeballing trades and worrying about making back the losses.

I'm just upping capital. Got 3-5% a month going into compounding. EURUSD has been a blessing to trade long term and just trading this big reversal of a downtrend that happened in 2018. For newbies I would say just keep trying to be consistently profitable :)
ECN or STP ?

I always go ECN, less likely for brokers to mess with trades.

Just gotta stick to a set strategy and tweak it gently. Time and patience whilst not going overboard.

Consistency is always key, then try to think about compounding and how much you’ll be amassing from that. Getting a good amount of capital is also important, trying to make 100,000 from 1000 is hard and risky but making 1000 from 100,000 is inevitable. I know it’s quite simplistic what I’m saying but if you can become consistent with profitable trading there are many ways to fund it and get more capital.

I was lucky enough to jump out just before the bubble burst in 2017, was a good Christmas :) thought we were doing the same this year but it’s seemed to have died down. If the halving pushes it and the hype starts again I could see it doing the same. This all kicked off again when we saw someone buy like 100milion dollars worth of bitcoin, Mad to see such volatility. In short I can see it moving to 20k next year but eyeing the drop this time :)
TO GAIN at least 5-10% a month, every month. IS THIS POSSIBLE?

I’d say it’s high risk. I tend to make 2% on normal account and 4-5% on my riskier account. It is achievable to hit 5_10% but see it as unlikely to be consistent, city traders can hit mad numbers but they have capital, rumour mill, influence, etc...

I’m probably averaging around 2% a month which doesn’t seem like much but with compounding and the amount of capital I managed to start with. I also have a riskier account that i’m hitting around 4-5% but with much less capital. Mostly use the high risk to hone my skills. I’m not even doing the overall % math with both accounts but more than a mutual fund return :)
Does anyone want to be a broker?

Lots of work and need a liquidity provider to get you started, then regulation, dealing with customers, etc.. seems like a lot of hassle. Though having said that it’s always possible as anything is :)

I never trust anyone but myself to trade and would never give money to anybody. These are great examples of dubious trading accounts, very informative and good to see traders with a solid head on them.

I calculate stop losses visually as per beginning of this thread, dependant on pairs I’ve learned how much to leverage and lot size. You can get an estimate for how much pairs like to move visually like on EURUSD where the markets can fluctuate like a yo-yo. I came to my estimates through trial and error when first starting :)

It’s hard to get out of the gambling mentality when starting out. Just takes time :) I used to blow accounts all the time 5 years ago :p
