The EUR/CAD looks good, it just broke the above resistance without a problem at 1.26, but as always lately there is some 'very important news event' today with the FED monetary policy decision at 16.30 GMT, I'm getting tired of those news events..so I will wait to take a long here, same with a long with the ERU/AUD, although that one looks really good right now around 1.2355

morning :)
still got my 1/3 long pos from 1.2850
put in another 0.01 v small long @ 1.2910, SL 1.2899
i was EUR positive today, i think we will rally up toward 1.2950 before the FOMC as people short cover, but i believe the market will be disappointed on the FOMC outcome (i.e low rates to 2015 and no firm QE3 mention) which will cause the EUR to fall somewhat,

So I decided to make a little bet today, by that I mean opening positions before the FED news later today that will probably greatly influence the EUR/USD pair..here is what I did:
1. Bought the EUR/AUD @ 1.2359 because of the little pin-bar reversal of yesterday on the daily chart, maybe a little late but I'm on vacation and i'm not in front of my screen too often. I expect the EUR/USD to continue it's move up towards at least 1.30 and I also think that the AUD will stay under pressure especially with the 'China-hard landing news' that keeps on coming. risking 50 pips, aiming 100 pips.
2. Bought The EUR/CAD @ 1.2620, it broke the 1.26 level, that's the Daily resistance-line, maybe it will consolidate a little bit and rebound from 1.26 before continuing it's move higher (I hope :D). No stops and TP yet because very small position, if the news turns out good for this pair, than I will by more and decide from there where to put the stop, if turns out bad for the pair I will close immediatly manually. Nothing more than a 50/50 bet here.
3. I'm betting that the USD will get hit later today with Ben Bernanke speaking, so I put a Sell Stop on the USD/YEN @ 77.55, it's under the previous low @ 77.65 that acts as a support level, so if USD negative news hits the wire, that support will break and the stops below 77.65 will get triggered, sl @ 78.05, TP @ 77.00.
I'm only opening very small positions, doing it for the sport of cathing pips! If Ben Bernanke dissapoints the market by revealing nothing new, than of course actions 2 and 3 won't turn out in my favor.
have a good pip hunting day!

there is enough volatility these days ( in september )
but when rate desecion days come I stay away.
look at daily chart how it did move long.
I guess you are trading waves like long shot long short .............
if yes then there is no volatility for you due EU heading up since start of september. ( one way )
but it might be ended soon for consolidation.
