Six sessions in a row consolidated around the 1200 level completes the price of gold. From the current level the price may head in any direction or it may continue oscillating around the 1200 level. To the upside, the 55 day EMA at the 1225 level may act as resistance. To the downside, the low at the 1160 may act as support.

U.S dollar looks strong and retail traders are long on the most of the various consensus measures. If you have to take a position on it I would place a sell on it with a short term outlook. reasonably safe 50-100 pips to be made IMHO.

I agree, a further move to the downside requires a breakout below the last low at $1,160.

Gold breaks below the 1200 level and stays below it. The low at the 1160 could act as support and above the 1200 level, the 55 day EMA around the 1222 could act as resistance.

The consolidation continued today too, the pair is still testing $1,200 and unless fundamentals cause enough volatility for a breakout tomorrow the consolidation may last into next week.

It bounced off from $1,185 after forming a spinning top candlestick and a hammer candlestick on the daily time-frame at that level and it may test the resistance at $1,215 again.

There is a good resistance on gold at the 55 day EMA around the 1214, but a breakout of that level could accelerate the bullish momentum towards the 200 day EMA around the 1259 level. To the downside, the 1187 level could still act as support.
